Trying to decide between 1900 Park Fare, Beach Club Buffet, or Donalds. Can you help?

1900 Park Fare is my favorite out of all the character breakfasts we've gone to. The food is good and the character interaction was great. We haven't been to Cape May yet, but were less than impressed with Donald's.

1900 is mine, too. However, I have not been to Donald's. The food at 1900 is great. I heard mix reviews of Donalds.

1900's is great and the food is good!!! We like Cape May too, but we weren't fond of Donald's--- long buffet line, just regular breakfast fare (nothing really different), slow characters and very dark inside.

We prefer Cape May over Donald's, better food and characters. Have never been to Park Faire so I can't comment.

I can't compare them because we've only been to Donald's but IMHO it just wasn't worth it. We got more time with the characters waiting in line in the parks and even though it was buffet, our waitress made it pretty clear it was time for us to go before we even had a chance to try for seconds.

I've been to both Donald's and 1900. Enjoyed both but 1900 is my favourite. :flower:

Myst

Of those 3 we've only tried Donald's and we really enjoyed it. As far as the characters go, there was alot of interaction! We had characters all around quite a few different times. Had the chance to have many pics taken with them. Way,way more interaction than Crystal Palace that's for sure. The atmosphere was quite different & I thought the food was pretty good. IMHO is was just about as good as Crystal Palace. Not too much different. I'm sure they're all good, it just depends what characters your interested in. Enjoy ! :flower:

Donald's has been taking a beating review-wise recently. Cape May is okay, good if you're at the YC or BC because it wouldn't take much travel. But PF consistently gets the best reviews both food-wise (made to order omelets, eggs to your preference, strawberry soup, bread pudding???) and character-wise (mixture of standards like Pooh and Tigger and non-traditional face characters Alice, Mary Poppins, and everyone loves the Mad Hatter).

We really liked Donald's :flower:

We were happy with the amount of time the characters spent at the table, and we didn't feel rushed at all. The food was good too, and there was plenty of it. It seemed as though they set people in the one section while the other was clearing out, and even the lingering ones didn't seem rushed. When they cleared out, the staff cleaned up and they started refilling that area when our section was packed, so I guess they rotate seating so the characters don't forget who they visited? When we left, we were quite full, and there were still plenty of people still there, so again, we didn't feel rushed at all.

I was worried that the pictures I took wouldn't turn out since it was a bit darker inside, however they were some of the best pics :)

Depends what is most convenient.
We've done 1900 Park Faire a couple of times for breakfast and enjoyed it.
Donald's we've done three times and LOVED! The service is good and they're quirky and funny~ I adore the characters at this one and twice we've ended up with almost all the characters at our table and we were all thrilled! I also love the food here :teeth: And it's fun to be inside the park and walk right out and begin enjoying attractions!
Never been to Cape May...
Good luck :wave2:

We've done them all and Cape May is our favorite. It is laid back, but the characters are very interactive. The food and service is excellent. We must warn you that we had such a terrible experience at Donald's that we will never return.

OMG!! Where is IMHO?? :earseek:

Thanks

We've done both 1900 Park Fare and Cape May and Cape May was our favorite. It could have been because we had a very early PS and we were one of the only people in the restaurant. The characters actually came and sat down with us and spent a lot of time posing for pictures.

The food at 1900 was just as good as Cape May, but it was more crowded and the characters had many more tables to visit.

You really can't go wrong with either.

Faves:
Chef Mickeys - Great food, convenient location, and extra character interaction with the little "floor show" they put on
Breakfastosaurus - Good food, fun theming; character interaction is a little perfunctory
Norway Akershus - Peaceful back in WS in the morning, a nice walk, and the Princesses here are awesome, the restaurant is lovely; food is just ok
Ohana - Nice view, relaxed, good character interaction; food is just ok

Least Faves:
Crystal Palace - Terrible character coverage, I've been four times and every time of the characters never makes it to our table -- I give up!
Cinderella's Royal Table - Fun place but go at lunch if you have to go; food is bad
1900 Park Faire - Mediocre food, feels overcrowded and the room is loud; unusual characters might be a draw, but the price is high for the entire experience

Never Tried:
Cape May

Wish They'd Bring Back:
Pooh at Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge
Hollywood & Vine in the Studios -- this was our favorite! :guilty:

Oh Good!
We got P.S at Cape May at 7:30AM, can't wait!

We enjoyed this one. Food was mediocre but the characters came around twice, and Chip came by three times (we think it was a woman inside, because she kept picking DD22mos. up and hugging her -- must've had a crush on DD, to her delight).

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, we LOVED. It made our whole trip. DD was going to have a stroke trying to get Piglet to come to the table (came by twice). We saw Tigger and Pooh. Eyore we didn't get to see -- he came over to our side of the room, but I was anxious to start our rides and didn't want to wait. The food was EXCELLENT.

So would you say we (me 27 & DBF 33) would like a character breakfast or something like Kona cafe or Boatwrites?!?!?!?

Depends. DH and I probably won't do one when we go back in Oct. There are too many grown-up places we'd still like to try sans DD. Still, if you can fit one in and have a long vacation, you can certainly use one of your TS credits for the experience.
