Best character breakfast NOT inside a park

We want to do a character breakfast the day of our departure. We will have used our hoppers, so we will have to go to a breakfast outside of the parks. I already have PS for Chef Mickey, but we've done that before. I was wondering about any other breakfasts in the resorts. The Park Faire at Grand Floridian sounds nice, but those are not the characters my crew would be interested in. Thanks for giving me your reports!

The only other on site choices (besides Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Faire) would be Cape May at the BC (Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale) and Ohana's at the Poly (Mickey, Chip and Dale). IIRC, the Swan/Dolphin also has a character breakfast, but only on weekends. Not sure what characters are there, though.

Haven't personally tried Ohana's or Cape May, but I'm sure you'll get recommendations from other posters.

Enjoy your trip!

I vote Ohana's!!! The food is great and Mickey's there! 1900 PF is only "ok," IMO, and the characters are Alice in Wonderland (which I hate). So I don't go there! :p

We just did the CB at 1900 Park Fare on Aug 14th. The characters were Mary Poppins in the lobby, Mad Hatter, Alice, Pooh and Eyeore walking around. The food was great as usual.

Did 1900 Park Fair and O'hana's in July. Both were great. The Breakfast at O'hana's was more relaxing since they bring the food to the table (Goofy, Mickey, Chip and Dale) and the kids get to play around a bit. 1900 was good food, The Mad Hatter, Alice, EEyore, and Mary Poppins were there. Pooh was doing greetings in the foyer. The waitstaff was a little more rushed, and I don't like the one side of the table with the huge booth all the way down the whole wall. When you get up to get food it is so crowded you know your bothering the table next to you!

Our last trip, Cape May's was our all time favorite character breakfast. The characters were great with our 7 month old, we enjoyed the buffet and had excellent service. On the same trip, we didn't care for 1900 PF. Ohana's was good too but we prefer Ohana's for dinner (no characters though). Chef Mickey's has always been our least favorite.

I made PS for Cape May because it sounds so cute. One problem, I'm afraid a big one, is that we are staying at the All Stars. How do I get there? Should we go to EPCOT then walk?

SusieDismom,

Since you are staying at the AllStar Resort, I would try to take a bus to Blizzard Beach. Then get on a bus that takes you to the Beach Club. Of course, it depends on what time your ressies are, they should have buses early.

If you took the bus to EPCOT, you would be in the front of EPCOT and you would have to walk to World Showcase and World Showcase does not always allow people in until 11:00 am.

Good Luck.

cgcw, I thought Ohanas dinner *did* have characters? I checked the DIS dining database and it indicates that it does as well. Does anyone have personal experience on this one?

Susie Dismom, another fun way to get to the Beach Club would be to take a bus to MGM then take a boat to the Beach Club!

DVCajun, Do I have to enter the park to do that? Our hoppers will be expired that morning, so I will not be able to get inside any parks.

You don;t have to enter the parks to catch the buses between resorts, so you would not have to have a hopper to do what DVC cajun suggests. We've never had characters at Ohanas dinner, just games and entertainment for the kids.

DVCajun,
We haven't seen character at Ohana's for dinner either -- unless you include some of the people we've seen there ;) !! Last we were there, they had coconut races and hula hoop contests for the kids. It could have changed since we dined there 2 years ago. Maybe someone with more recent experience can help?
