We would like to rent a car for about a week when we go to WDW in Dec. There are only 3 of us, so an intermediate type would do.

We are staying at Old Key West, and wondered which companies deliver to the hotel and pick up. Also, is it cheaper to book here before we go or wait until we get there? Any companies to avoid?!!!!

Please help!!!

Also try Airline Network, they are very cheap and you can upgrade to an "all inclusive" package for around £10. They car hire starts at £110 for a week in December.

You can pick up and drop off at various locations, airport, downtown disney resort hotels, international drive hotels.

Holiday Autos is the company I use most often.

Is there a reason you're not collecting/dropping at the airport? I would have thought it would save you the taxi fares. I'll guess that you're only planning to hire a car for a portion of your trip? IMHO if that's the case , by the time you've factored in the taxis you might as well book the car for the whole trip. I find on WDW ( and OKW in particular) that many of the attractions are much easier and quicker to visit by car. The added bonus is that it can also save you money by allowing you easy access to supermarkets and off site dining. JMHO.

Are you three adults ( or have lots of luggage) ? I would usually just book an economy if I can just about manage. IMHO the only time you need worry about space is too and from the airport (if you do an airport pick up) . I have found that the rental companies almost never have economy cars and will try to "up sell" you to what they do have. If you decline to pay for the up grade you usually get one for free :D . I think maybe once out of 8 or 9 trips have I actually received the economy car.

I always use Holiday Autos but if you find Airline Netwrok or any other UK car hire company cheaper just give them a ring and ask if they will price match. They have not only done this the twice I have called and also beaten the price by an additional £10!.

Another tip with HA is to check the online price. This is not available if you phone them up (?) but you cant book a different location for the drop off online. eg pick up on I Drive and drop at the airport. One of the HA reps told me just to book it online as a return trip from the airport, give it 24 hours and then phone them up to change the details. Job done!
