We arrived on Friday Nov 12 for what was supposed to be a 5 night stay... After 30 mins here, dh wanted me to go and see how much longer we could stay for...so we are now here until the 24th!

We are from British Columbia and are avid campers, usually camping 45-60 days per summer, mostly in remote wilderness sites in all types of weather. This is the 1st time we have ever had concrete pads (and palm trees) and we love it!

We rented a golf cart yesterday to see what looping what was all about...loved that too! We are so happy that we didn't take a hotel as we were at one time considering....this is the best!

The only thing wrong is that our feet hurt so bad from walking everywhere and that we didn't come prepared with enough groceries for a 12 night stay!!

We are on the road for a year and hope to find other RV sites like this along our journey!!

So glad you love the Fort. You can call and have groceries delivered. Can't remember the name off hand. I bet someone will post it for you. Have fun.

Wow! That would be fantastic! I wonder if they will also deliver more beer and wine??

Any info on this would be appreciated!

you can order groceries through Garden Grocer. There is a $40 minimum order and any order under $200 there is a delivery fee of $12, for orders over $200 delivery fee is waivered. Hope this helps, enjoy your extended stay!
As for beer and wine I don't see any beer or wine products listed on their site so I don't think they deliver it, but maybe try giving them a call just to make sure.

Try www.wegoshop.com for a service that will deliver beer and wine in addition to groceries.

They are a bit more personalized in that they will shop at whatever store you choose and get whatever brand of products that particular store has. (No list off of the internet to order from.)

That is superb! Sounds like our northern neighbor’s fun meter is pegged out.

So glad to hear it. Please post some pictures for us all to enjoy.

Happy trails friend. :thumbsup2

thanks, I will check both out. I am at the Meadows Trading Post right now using the wifi and see that they do sell some groceries etc in there as well. I will post some pictures as soon as I figure it out!

Sounds like someone is spoiled for life. ;) I'm glad to hear that you are having a good time!

If akacake's party buys too many groceries at the Trading Post, they won't be able to afford another trip to the Fort. :lmao:

I believe you can also rent fishing poles at the Meadows store.

or maybe it's the bike barn,:confused3

one or the other.

DogDawg...What is the significance of your screen name?

Retired and happy - I love that screen name and the idea of being retired and happy :) Good for you, you seem like great folks. As for DogDawg, it's an old screen name but my wife and I are proud Louisiana Tech (Bulldog) Alums. That and we have several dogs?!

Thanks, I am having a great time..I love Florida winters compared to Canadian winters, but sadly I do have to go back to reality in 6 more months...this has been the trip of a lifetime though!!!

Our son is 10 and he has no idea what we have sacrificed to be able to do all of this extended traveling, Disney, time off work, etc etc!

Not that I've ever done this, but.....
As I recall, you can catch a bus to downtown disney and hit the HESS station. Beer selection/price was good, but wine may be a dif't story.
