Best cabins at Fort Wilderness

I am planning a trip to Fort Wilderness this fall and staying in a cabin with my husband, 8, 7, and 6 year old. It is my understanding I can request a cabin? Or a specific Loop? We have never been to Disney before and wanted to get some opinions on the best cabins to stay in.
We will not have a car, and probably not a golf cart.

I stayed in a cabin at Ft. Wilderness in January 2015. I was there alone and was there to run the Disney marathon. Most of the transportation to parks/Disney Springs is towards the "front" of fort--on the opposite side of the lake/marina. Because I was not planning to go to Magic Kingdom, and the race transportation buses would be picking me up in the main transportation area, people on this board suggested I request a cabin in 1800 loop. I did, I received it, and was VERY happy with it.
