We decided we are going to get a cabana on Castaway when we're there in March. We have two kids (6 and 2) - what's the best # to try and get?? I understand there are 20 or so and you can get straight there on a golf cart from the boat. But is there a more convenient one or group to shoot for? We would like to be closer to food and the pelican plunge and anything else kids would like. Also, we'd like to be on a nice part of the beach! TIA!! :)

One question first - are you traveling Concierge?

We were concierge this past week and we had cabana #3. It was close to the bathrooms and food and a great location imo. :)

Just a clarification, I don't believe you can get there on a golf cart straight from the boat. I am pretty sure you will have to take the normal tram from the dock to the second stop. That is where you would check-in for the cabanas and they can take you on a golf cart the remaining distance to your assigned cabana. I know this is how it works for Serenity Bay cabanas, you have to take the normal tram to Serenity Bay and they take you the rest of the way by golf cart.

I would also echo PrincessSchmoo. Are you traveling Concierge?

I am also hoping (and praying) to get a cabana on CC from my research I gathered that it will depend on the family and what is most important to you as far as proximity to the restaurants as well as the masses goes. I want peace and quiet and I know DH and DS want to play in the water and sun all day so I settled upon trying for Cabanas 4-10 (ideally I would get Cabana #8) as possible options they are all on the family beach and a good distance away from the crowds also a good distance to food and other festivities.

I'm curious to know about this too. The golf cart part. I have a Serenity Bay cabana booked and my step-dad is concierge and if there was any chance that he could catch a golf cart from the ship to the cabana, that would really help him.

When we were there a couple of weeks ago we had cabana 25 on SB. There was no cart from the ship direct to the beach. We had to get a tram from the ship to the family beach, then change and get another tram from the family beach to SB. Once there there was a golf cart to the cabana, but to be fair it was only a 2 minute walk by that point a way.

If you are concierge you can call 120 days out at 12:01:01 to reserve. It is first come first serve.

Yes, no cart from the ship to the team stop, but you do have one once you're at your tram location.

There is no cart from the ship to the cabanas or the cabana check in. We get a cabana when traveling with our elderly, mobility challenged parents. The concierge host in charge of the cabanas called before Castaway Cay day to see if there was anything he could help with for the cabanas. I asked if it were possible to have my parents transported by cart (we would walk/take the tram). You would've thought I asked him to gold plate the entire ship. With two wheelchairs, the walk to the tram, the wait to get on the tram (had to wait for 4 trams since the crowd was large so no room for the wheelchairs beside the handicapped row which were in use by others in line before us) and the wait for a golf cart to then take us to the cabana, it was 75 minutes from leaving the ship to arriving at the cabana. If I hear that others have received this service, I'm going to be REALLY mad!

If you want to be close to food/bathroom/Pelican Plunge go with the lower numbers. We are usually in 2 or 3 so it isn't a long trip to Cookie Too or the restrooms but the trade off is that it is closer to the line where the Public area and concierge only area of the beach meet so we have had a number of people move into the "less crowded" concierge area.

We had cabana #9 in September and loved it. We walked down the beach to the snorkeling lagoon. For lunch, the host picked us up and took us to Cookies (the farthest from the cabanas) because I had a gluten free lunch waiting and apparently they deliver special items like that to cookies, not Cookies Too. The family cabanas beach was not crowded at all when we were there.

I will be bringing water shoes next time though. Maybe it was the time of year but I found all the beaches to be very shelly and difficult to walk on with bare feet.

Yes, I should have mentioned, we are going Concierge so I hope to be able to snag one!!

I notice this is an old thread, but we have an option of getting cabana #24 or #25. If you had that option, which would you choose? How far away is the Serenity bay option for food? Thank you in advance

We had both of them in the past, either is really fine. Its a short walk to the BBQ. A 1 hour bike rental comes with the cabana, but they have told us we can just keep the bikes for the day, so we hop on and ride over for lunch or bathroom breaks. If you can't make the walk, there a button inside the cabana you can push and a golf cart will come and pick you up.

Thank you! The bikes are a great idea! Do you know if each person gets one and when do you pick them up? We are thinking #25 for more privacy. Is it the cabana that is orange and sits higher than the others?

Yes, the bike are one person, cabana 25 is the very last one. We were in it in May of this year. People going to cabana 24 will walk by in front of yours thats where the path leads for 24 & 25. Its a slice of heaven!!!!

We are Silver. Last October we were lucky enough to snag Cabana #5. We loved it! I don't know how or why but I went online two weeks before the cruise to book an excursion and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it available.
