Thinking about buying in, before I start talking to the DVC folks at Disney, would like to hear some of the best special offers re. rebates, financing, vacation credits, etc. people were offered for the two most recent properties, VWL and BCV.

I know at the end of the VWL, the very last week they were selling, a saleslady called me with an offer (the details of which I honestly can't remember now) that would have matched anything I could have done via purchasing a resale, with less hassle. I am assuming that was pretty unusual, though.

I would like to go into any negotiations with the new Saratoga Springs, or the last couple weeks of BCV, with an idea of what I could possibly push for.

Never pay retail! LOL, sorry, that's just the way I'm made. ;)

Disney is not real negotiable on this. The MB program gives you allows you to sell your first year points back to Disney. At last check the deal is $10 for BCV, BWV (if it is still available) and $15 at Vero Beach. However, the downside is that Vero has the highest dues!

Resales can be a good deal since you can sometimes get banked points which mean you start with more options. People have rented those banked points for money in the past (me I just go to Disney again!)

I have used the Timeshare Store and DVC by Resale. Both went well, but it was actually the same agent (Shontell who know owns DVC by Resale)

Just thought of one more thing. Rumor is the new resort will start selling August 4th. Personally Iwould wait to see what they offer then.

The best deal is buy early. They will sometimes offer a special package or meal copupons to come preview. We got a heavily discounted four night stay at AKL. But they are rare and are not something you negotiate. You will hear many, myself included, who wished they had simply signed on earlier.

If you do buy through Disney and use Magical Beginnings, have them back date the contract as far as possible. This way in all reality you can get $10.00 discount per pt and not have use of the pts for only 4 months vs 1 yr.

When they presold BCV, they offered a free vacation. since we only bought an add-on, we only got 3 nights free, but my brother bought a contract, and he got a full vacation, 7 nights, or perhaps even 10, for his contract. He was in a real dilemma on how to use all those points and the vacation, too, with only 2 weeks of vacation per year. Poor baby:p

Nothing can beat the incentive in 1994 when we bought. Free length of stay passes for every visit ( # depended on type of unit)until 2000! We never payed for a pass for 6 years, nor anyone we gave points to..wow what a reality shock in 2000 when we had to add the $ for 6-day passes. It was such a great perk!

We beat that by a mile!!!

We bought in '92, two more years of passes than you got:cool:
