Best Buy gc

My ds recently upgraded his phone at Best Buy. His previous phone was under their old buy back program so things worked out really well. He got an iPhone4 for free which was his choice since he had to pay for the new phone.He walked out with the his new iPhone. They then sent back his old phone and we had to go back in a few days later to pick up that phone or a newer one like it and tell them to do the buy back deal which all went great. We got $180 back for his old phone which they had to put on a Best Buy gift card and then they reimbursed us the remainder of money left on old insurance plan which I had paid in full at that time. That was about $50 and they refunded my card. So now we have $180 on Best Buy gift card but we rarely spend that much $ at Best Buy unless buying a computer. I wanted to put the $180 toward our Best Buy card which we used for dd computer and was told we could not do that. Is there any way around that? I really would prefer that $ go toward paying off my card. HOpe this makes sense!
