Hello,

My wife and I are bringing my wifes 75 year old father. He has some trouble walking. We have booked a one bedroom at OKW. I was wondering what buildings #'s were closest to the front lobby so it would make for a shorter walk to the bus stop. Also are any of those "close to the front" buildings have a better view than another or are they all great views?

Hi,
I would suggest bldg's 61-64 they are the newer bldgs with elavators ,close to the front and have nice views.
Good luck

The buildings nearest to HH do not necessarily insure a short walk to a bus stop. If you look at the OKW map, you will see that there are a lot of units close to the 5 bus stops. I would make your request to MS to be close to a bus stop and first floor or elevator building for medical reasons. The problem is, if you did not request that at the time you made your reservation, you will have to call and change your request. If you trip is coming up soon, that will put your requests far down on the list compared to making them at the 11 month window.

Hi!
Although I don't have any room reports from any 1 BR in Building 13, other Villas supposedly have a great view. And just to show you how everyone's idea of "good view" can be different, some people in Building 63 talk about the great view, while others complain about it being not so great.

Even within a building, you can get different views depending upon which unit you are in.

It's really best to request what you are trying to get by being in a certain building -- type of view (woods, water, golf course), near a pool or near a bus stop if that's important, near HH if that's what you'd like, etc.

I'm sorry, I missunderstood. I thought your main question was about accessibility for your FIL. For the best accessiblity (first floor and close to bus stop AND a great view, I would ask for 21 or 20. I LOVE the views from there, and Miller's Road is the last bus stop before HH. We also like theiviews a 55 and 48 which would both be close to the Southpoint bus stop. BTW, buildings 46 and 47 have great views, but are quite a ways from any bus stop.

If your FIL is a normal 75 years old he is going to have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Since you do not have a 2 bedroom that means he must use the same bathroom you do. Now if he is sleeping in the living room he will need to get to the bathroom during the night. All the building30 and under have only one way into the bathroom and that is from the master bedroom. buildings over 30 have a second entrance to the bathroom through the laundry room which means he will not have to go through the master bedroom to get there. This is a big deal and I would make sure you have a one bedroom in buildings over 30 and are close to a bus stop, plus do you want non-smoking or not. When they built the buildings over #30 they added this way into the bathroom from the living room. If I had to guess I would say this is just as important to your father in law as being close toa bus stop. Now if you are going to sleep in the living room and give him the master bedroom then this will not be a problem. I would get a 2 bedroom unit if you have the points.

Just remember not to be to upset if you do not get what you requested.

Thanks everyone that was a lot of great info. I'll call member services in the morning and make some requests.
