We really like the Crystal Palace in MK, and we've eaten there for both breakfast and dinner.

My personal favourite is the Biergarten Restaurant at the German Pavilion in Epcot. A must do for us every trip - I'm a German-Canadian so it's great to have all the things my Mom used to cook for me when I was a kid.

We tend to enjoy menu TS over buffets unless there are characters we want to dine with, but with that being said Tusker House at AK for both Breakfast and Lunch was very good. I also think that Boma for both breakfast and dinner is a cut above the others. Biergarten for dinner was pretty good (especially if you like meat). I don't really think any of the others we have been to (Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace for breakfast, Crystal Palace & Cape May Cafe for dinner) were anything special. As a matter of fact, we thought Cape May Cafe was the worst food we've had on property. It could have just been a bad night, though, as others have given it good reviews.

Tusker House (lunch) is the only one I'd recommend for the food alone. It was the surprise of our first DxDDP trip; I'm normally not a fan of buffets at all but the food at TH was very good and didn't suffer from the drying out/wrong temp issues that tend to be common at buffets.

Crystal Palace for breakfast was quite good as well. My kids loved it even though they're well past the Pooh & friends stage. I'm not a breakfast eater so I can't really offer my personal review, other than that the puffed french toast while overwhelmingly sweet really is as amazing as the DISboards buzz makes it out to be. Light and sweet and lovely, even if I could only take it in small quantities!

Another one that my growing boy loved, all you can eat but not buffet style, was Ohana. It is a meat-fest, which is right up DS12's alley. Its a hard ADR to come by and check-in is a zoo, but DH & DS both thought it was worth it.

Tusker House at AK, Crystal Palace at MK, Akershus and Biergarten at Epcot are all pretty good for buffets in the park. At resorts, Boma at AKL, Cape May at Beach Club, and 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian are my favorites.

OP, you might be better off making a poll out of this question. You will end up with every buffet, family style, or just about any other restaurant and all meals of the day named with both positive and negative opinions, which is not going to give you too much help. Plus, with a poll, you are more likely to get more input.

Tusker House (AK) and Crystal Palace (MK).

If you are paying cash, do lunch. Same great food, lower cost.

We LOVE Biergarten! We are not German but the food is great, hot, plentiful and yummy!!!! Pretzel rolls, spaetzle, roasted potatoes, potato dumplings, pork.... Loved it again last week! Here is a menu link: http://allears.net/menu/men_ger.htm

Tusker House if my fav breakfast! So many choices, love it! Chocolate croissants, make your own yogurts, eggs and the usual fare.

1. Boma dinner
2. Boma breakfast
3. Crystal Palace Breakfast
4. Akershus (but I appreciate probably not with boys :) )
5. Ohanas breakfast (family style great characters)
6. Biergarten dinner
7. Crystal Palace dinner
8. LTT dinner (again family style)
9. Ohanas dinner

The one I would leave behind is definitely 1900 PF

Have you considered HDDR - great entertainment and all you can eat and drink.

I would totally recommend Tusker House. Crystal Palace was also nice. I was a little disappointed by Biergarten. :goodvibes

1. Tusker House breakfast (loved it so much we're doing breakfast and lunch this time)
2. Crystal Palace Breakfast
3. Crystal Palace Lunch
4. 1900 Park Fare (Love the prime rib and horseradish sauce!)
5. We're giving Ohana dinner another chance this time, just staying away from the shrimp.... :scared1:

We HATE Chef Mickey's!!! I do want to try Boma at some point as well.

If you are on the deluxe dining plan, appetizers are included so a menu meal can be a lot of food with app, entree, dessert at most places... For example, in Hollywood Studios, 50s Prime Time can stuff ya pretty good... especially with the gigantic milkshakes! The lunch and dinner buffet at Hollywood and Vine is the only buffet I didn't care for. It's ok, but nothing special and limited selection.

Our favorite Buffets ---

Tusker House Breakfast -- very good, some choices that are beyond the usual breakfast fare. Characters too! I'd say Tusker House for lunch or dinner too (had a great dinner there in 2008) but Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom has been our favorite the past 2 trips.

Crystal Palace -- lots of variety, carved meats very good. You can fill your bones here pretty well. Buffet is higher quality than most others. Plus characters again.

Biergarten -- Nice buffet, lots of filling food (sausages, potatoes, etc...). Sauerbraten (sour beef) is only served at dinner. Otherwise, the menu's about the same. My liter of beer filled me up!

Garden Grill -- not a buffet, but all you care to eat family style. I thought the food here was very good. Fresh cooked veggies, Mahi Mahi, Flank steak, and lots more.

I may be the only one to suggest but if you like decent food at a reasonable price I would look at the menu for Trail End Buffet at Fort Wilderness. We went there for the first time on Thanksgiving and were pleasantly surprised. My DH loved the friend chicken and ribs and the kids loves the mac and chesse. I tried a little of everything and every was good. It is a buffet for dinner but lunch is no longer buffet.

We love Crystal palace buffet for lunch or dinner. I have heard breakfast is VERY good also.

Boma dinner (AKL) and Crystal Palace dinner (MK) are my favorites....the food at both of these is really good!

Tusker House was the only buffet we experienced on our last trip and it was excellent! I was so pleasantly surprised! I would totally eat hear again and definitely recommend it to anyone. The food was fresh and well prepared and not super exotic. My 7 year old loved it!
