Best Breakfast IN the Park??

We recently decided to splurge and actually buy and eat breakfast at DL for the 1st time ever!!!

What's THE BEST place or places to eat inside Disneyland? Not interested in DCA but only DL. While the character breakfasts look like fun, we just can't afford that. So any advice/thoughts on where you like to eat breakfast while in DL would be much appreciated. I know Tomorrowland Terrace is out since it's being renovated while we are there...

Also, does anyone know where I can get menus for breakfast? I've checked all the usual websites, allears, mouseplanet, themouseforless and the Dis and can't find anything besides Carnation Cafe breakfast menu.

TIA!:flower3:

I think you'll probably get a wide variety of responses with a subjective question like that. Opinion on these boards vary so widely.

We tried Carnation Cafe once for breakfast, and it was OK. I know others love RBT.

I know..it is so subjective isn't it?

My main issue was trying to figure out where to actually get breakfast in the park. Since we've never eaten in the park, even growing up, I have no idea besides Carnation Cafe and the Plaza character deal, which places actually do a breakfast. And it would be great to get some opinions on likes/dislikes and find a place that didn't totally suck!

The Carnation is at the top of my list, but then again it's the only one really on there!:rotfl:

Well, if this tells you anything...after our first and last breakfast experience at CC, I wasn't able to talk my husband into eating there again...two years later. He vividly recalled that the service "sucked", as he so delicately put it.

I don't have as strong of an opinion on it, but I do recall feeling the breakfast items offered were pretty basic, definitely nothing to write home about. I think the eggs were weird.

I really liked Riverbelle Terrace breakfast when I was there in March. It was a nice atmosphere and if it is nice out you can eat outside with a view of the rivers of america. You can find the menus by going to allears.net then click Disneyland at the top and then click DLR dining and then Disneyland Menus (this last can be found on the left hand side). I had the steamboat and hot cocoa and it was delish! I have eaten at Tomorrowland Terrace and while it was ok, I wouldn't eat b-fast there again unless I was really hungry and was on that side of the park.

Good luck and have fun,
SarahMay

Again, it seems we agree, FlameGirl:cool1:! I thought the same exact thing you said about the Carnation Cafe breakfast - it was OK. I didn't think it was horrible. I didn't think it was wonderful. I much prefer the lunch or dinner/dessert at Carnation over the breakfast, but there are so many people on the DIS who like the breakfast best, so I just assumed I got there on an off day. Our service at breakfast was kind of bad as well (not that I expect it to be like that every day). I don't even know how long it took for anyone to get around to asking me if I wanted a refill on my coffee, but let's just say it was not like most places where they are quick with the coffee refills! I was sitting there and sitting there and sitting there and no coffee was coming. They kept passing by me while I tried to flag them down for coffee, and they just sailed right on by the table!

The eggs have cheddar cheese on them - there is not even an option for eggs without cheddar unless you specifically request it. My potatoes were a bit weird in consistency. There were some interesting looking things that other folks were ordering like cinnamon roll French toast, and, of course, they serve the famous Mickey waffle. I really just wanted the protein items...and caffeine...:yay:

River Belle Terrace is good for a counter service place. It has a really nice little location at the crossroads of Adventureland, New Orleans Square and Frontierland. The Mickey pancakes should be tried at least once and the food is decent. Sometimes finding a table can be a pain in the butt, though.

I think Village Haus has been serving breakfast since Tomorrowland Terrace has been down recently. You can hit Blue Ribbon Bakery for a quick pastry on Main Street. You already know about Minnie & friends, CC, and RBT.

Personally, my favorite breakfast is a churro! :lmao:popcorn::

I think the reason you haven't found a lot of places to eat breakfast in Disneyland is because there aren't a lot of places. You know about Minnie's at Plaza Inn and Carnation Cafe. River Belle Terrace is in Frontierland. Village Haus in Fantasyland has been serving a breakfast similar to what was served at Tomorrowland Terrace before the refurbishment started. Cafe Orleans used to serve breakfast but hasn't since the New Orleans kitchen refurbishment started or maybe even before. I think that's it unless you just want to grab a big cinnamon roll or something from the Main Street Bakery.

We used to enjoy the Tomorrowland Terrace breakfast. The Village Haus one looks similar but may not be as good a deal because I think drinks may no longer be included in the price. We tried Carnation Cafe once and decided that if we wanted an overpriced breakfast, we preferred the experience at RBT and would rather enjoy Carnation Cafe for lunch or dinner.

I know you said you don't want to eat breakfast in DCA, but for some reason I love going to the Pacific Wharf Cafe and ordering a bread bowl with scrambled eggs and bacon and relaxing by the water there. It's often very pleasant and uncrowded at breakfast time. They used to have these yummy cream puffs too but no more. The breakfast croissant sandwich isn't bad though.

The allears menus do have breakfast menus for CC, RBT, PWC, and Tomorrowland Terrace which is very similar to what's being served at Village Haus but probably not up-to-date in pricing.

I checked the Dis dining info, and they don't have Riverbelle Terrace's breakfast menu (only lunch and dinner), so here is that.

It's hurting my brain that you're not interested in DCA, so just in case you have a change of heart, here is the b'fast menu for Pacific Wharf Cafe.

Again, they don't list b'fast there on the Dis dining page.

I specifically remember my eggs being spongey. I don't remember cheese, just that the texture of the eggs was offputting. Not the worst thing in the world, but we won't be beating down their door to eat breakfast there again any time soon. :lmao:

Thank you all...

I'm not a big DCA fan and spend on planning the majority of our time at DL. Plus it's been a dream of mine since childhood to eat breakfast at DL, this trip...I'm gonna make my dream come true!:wizard:

Has anyone tried the cinnamon roll french toast thing at CC? We are not egg eaters and I'm not a meat eater and DS is almost impossible to feed but will eat mickey pancakes, maybe the waffle....

I'm a little concered after hearing that CC hasn't been very good for breakfast. We've got PS for lunch on our last day but was hoping the breakfast would be good too for another day.:confused3

I haven't eaten at Carnation Cafe since 2003 so I don't have much to add there, but I did enjoy my breakfast from Riverbelle Terrace (back in 2006 :rotfl:). The most recent breakfast I have done in Disneyland are two trip to the Plaza Inn for the character breakfast which I really can't do anything but rave about.

I actually think DCA has better food, better selection than DL. The themeing isn't always better nor their opening hours. But yes I like DCA too! :goodvibes
As for DL RBT is our first favorite, then CC :) tradition for both more than anything :wizard:

Here's the thing (for me)...

MOST of the food at DLR is mediocre at best. If you're looking for a cute spot to sit and relax and people watch inside the park, CC is fine. Every time we go to DLR, we have to seriously lower our bar as far as food goes. I don't think you'll be devastated by your breakfast experience at CC. More than likely, it will be fine.

I like Carnation Cafe because I like the Mickey waffles. I prefer that to pancakes.

For me, experience/atmosphere is just as important as the food itself. To be honest, DH and I are not "serious foodies" and would take Jack in the Box over Ruth Chris steakhouse anyday. We just aren't into all that fuss and hype and prefer "regular" food at normal prices. So I can't imagine being dissapointed. We like pretty much all the food at DLR except the hamburger & fries options- yuck!:scared:

But that cinnamon roll french toast thing...yum, sounds good.

Honestly then, I think you'll be happy with breakfast at CC as long as you go in with the understanding that the service might be not great. It won't ruin your day but they won't win any awards, either. :goodvibes

Chrissiecutie - It's driving me nuts because I know someone posted a photo of that cinnamon roll French toast somewhere in a TR or a random thread. I remember seeing the picture - and of course, I can't find it now when I need it!

In the meantime, here are links to photos of other Carnation Cafe breakfast food:

And yes, the location is really charming and cute. The seating is very limited at CC, but if you are lucky to get a table right along Main Street, it's great for people-watching.
