We want to go to breakfast while our kids are on the pirate cruise that leaves from the beach club. Where would you recommend? So far our choices seem to include Cape May or walking into Epcot for ? or over to the Swan? Where would you go?

We did the charecter breakfast last year at the Cape May, and it is one of the best breakfasts at Disney. They have a HUGE buffet line for just pastries!

Spoodles has a very nice ala cart breakfast (or at least it used to) over at the Boardwalk that is just about perfect for Mommy and Daddy waiting for the Pirate Cruise.

I'd skip Cape May as I've never found a Disney Character Meal where the food itself was worth the price - the characters are great, but I don't know I'd pay that for breakfast if I didn't WANT the characters.

Have to say that Cape May Character Buffet is really good. Food was great. :goodvibes

You can also walk over to the Boardwalk bakery. They have a pretty good selection of things that are very tasty. Plus, you can sit outside at one of the tables and enjoy the view of the lake.

If you want a nice big breakfast - Cape May definately. Although it's a character breakfast it's still very enjoyable for adults and I've always found the buffet to be good.

The only thing is your kids may not like the fact that you did a character breakfast without them...

Can always walk over to the Yacht Club & eat at the Captain Grille has a great breakfast. No characters though.

We recently had breakfast at Cape May and were disappointed. We've eaten at Chef Mickey's in the past and were happy. Everything we had at Cape may was not hot (it was lukewarm at best) and there wasn't much character interaction. We didn't feel it was worth the money.

We also tried Captains Grille (Yacht Club Galley) and were disappointed.

We usually go to Spoodles or Garden Grove Cafe (in the Swan) for breakfast and enjoy both. Spoodles has an All You Can Eat Platter (if you're interested) and is reasonably priced. Garden Grove offers an A La Carte Menu as well as a buffet.

Cape May is good if you want characters. The food has always been good when we've been.

Better food-wise, though, is Spoodles. They have the BEST French toast EVER, and also really excellent hot chocolate. They have an all-you-can-eat family style breakfast platter that inc. eggs, potatoes, french toast, sausage and bacon. You can order it per-person, so there's also the a la carte menu.

Now I'm hungry... :hippie:

I've been to Spoodles for breakfast, has a mediterrean style menu...food was good.
Hands down, my favorite breakfast is Cape May Cafe. Yes it is a character breakfast, but not a loud atmosphere at all. Both atmosphere and food are great. I would recommend it...:thumbsup2

Well the older two will be on the pirate cruise but we will still have our 2 yr old with us. I'm leaning toward Cape May but have to think on it more.... Anyone know how close is Cape May to where they would board the pirate ship?

Cape May is awesome, we also had a fantastic breakfast at the Captains Grill in the YC. Went to Spoodles but it was terrible.

Best breakfast CLOSE to BC? The best breakfast is AT BC!!!! The very best breakfast is at the Cape May Cafe. It is a character breakfast and it is awesome!!! The food is great and the characters are a lot of fun... even with three teenagers!!!

Captain's Grille has a very large breakfast buffet - no characters. I've heard it's improved greatly and is quite good now.
