I guess I will have to explain. My family is planning a trip to WDW. We will be using a timeshare outside the parks for a week that is Sunday-Sunday. We want to make our trip longer than the week, so we want to stay at Disney resorts. We were thinking about doing 2 nights before and then another resort 2 nights after our main timeshare stay. We would only do 4 days at the parks and a couple of those days would be during that main week. Currently we are looking at some resorts: BCV,BWV,BLT,AKL and OKW. So far BWV and OKW stand out, but we are trying to see which resort would be best as a start for our vacation, probably going to a park the second day we are there and then the last resort we might do a park, we might not and decide to just relax or go to other attractions around Orlando like Disney Springs or a museum. What resorts are best for the end of your vacation? What would be the best for the start?

It used to be that a 60+4(consecutive nights onsite) FP+ booking window would give you much better chance of booking some desired FP+....but now, no one knows how the new reservation system will work.

Park proximity would give you the most obvious advantage of staying DVC, so then choose a resort with proximity to the park(s) you want to visit. OKW for early DS days and BWV for park days at Epcot and DHS makes a lot of sense.

Personally, I prefer a few days relaxing on a beach after a kinda busy WDW trip, so I can go back home relaxed.

Are you paying cash, renting points? When are you planning on going?

We will be renting points. We are think of going in December or in January. We probably won't go next year, but in the next couple years

Since you will only be doing a couple of nights, I would plan to stay at a resort that is close to the park you are planning to play at. So, if you are planning MK, then go for BLT. If you are planning HS/EP, go for BWV. For the end of your stay, if you want a relaxing end and are just going to plan to go to DS, I would recommend SSR so you can just walk over to DS.

Depending on your traveling party, AKL might be another serious contender. Kidani has a great pool area (nice splash pad area). AKL is just more relaxing to me. I like walking around and just looking at the animals and taking in the atmosphere. I also really like visiting with the CM's here. They just seem more relaxed and willing to take time to visit with you.

Sounds like a great trip!!! Happy planning!
