Best "Boardwalk" Resort

I want to stay within walking distance to MGM in November and am wondering which resort you would recommend and why. Beach Club, Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Inn, Boardwalk Villas, or Yacht Club?

They are all great and each has its fans. Personally, I am partial to the Yacht Club. I love the hotel and the decor, the pool is wonderful and the service there has always been great.

While you can easily walk to MGM from YC/BC/BC Villas, Boardwalk Inn and Villas are obviously closer. Its probably about a 15 - 20 minute walk from YC/BC/BC Villas, while it would be about 5 minutes less from the Boardwalk hotels.

The concierge deluxe rooms at the boardwalk are wonderful and have a view of the epcot fireworks!

I'll post a report when we return. I've stayed at the Beach Club and thought it was quite nice. I think I'm going to like the Boardwalk Inn even more.

either Yacht or Beach - or the Beach Club Villas. You'll love Stormalong Bay! The CMs are superb, the rooms are recently updated...what a wonderful resort!

antmaril - I'm looking forward to reading your post. We are staying at the Boardwalk the last week in April for the first time.

My favorite park is EPCOT and DH's fav is MGM, so I figure this may be ideal.

Please let us know how the bus service is and if you have any meals at the Boardwalk dining areas.

Being a DVC member I am partial to The Boardwalk Villas, having a guaranteed Boardwalk view you have a freat view of the Epcot fireworks and sometimes you can also see Fantasmic fireworks as well.

I agree about Boardwalk concierage, especially the deluxe if you can afford it. YC/BC has the best pool as well as being very nice. Don't forget the Swan/Dolphin. Sometimes they offer great discount rates, and they are both deluxe hotels.

The villas at both Beach Club and Boardwalk can be rented on the DVC board. If you can go Sun-Thurs. and are flexible about time of year, sometimes you can get BWV at around $150/night (tax included).

I have stayed at all 5 hotels many times.... I loved Yatch/Beach Clubs pool, Storm-A-Long Bay and the styles of each. I didnt care for Boardwalk (we stayed during 4th of July and it was just too hip-hop for our family... Both Dolphin and Swann are my favorites (Dolphin edging out Swann b/c of Tubbies Buffeteria cravings at 11pm), the pools here are excellent if you want casual and noise free or family oriented grotto pool w/ water slide. If your a Florida resident or a passholder, Swann and Dolphin are always cheaper than the other 3. You must call the hotels rather than SPG to get the better rates and you get a free room upgrade if your a member of SPG (its a free membership). Also, both these two are first and last stops to MGM, so your boat travel times are shortest.

I have stayed at both the YC and BC. Both are very nice. Their benefits are the pool and proximity to EPCOT and the Boardwalk. At night, you don't need to travel far for dining and entertainment.

Another vote for the yacht Club. Very understated and peaceful. Had a great view of the BW and fireworks from our balcony

Thank you all very much for the information. I hadn't even thought of the Swan & Dolphin. And I didn't know exactly how close each resort is to MGM, so thanks for that info too. It's going to be a tough decision b/c they all look so nice and relaxing. I can't wait!!
