Hey all! I know flying fish is great but where else at Boardwalk has a good lunch menu?

Is it worth it to try and walk in and get a table at beaches and cream if we cant get a reservation?

If you want to eat directly on the Boardwalk, ESPN and Big River Grille are fairly easy walk-ups. Trattoria and Flying Fish won't be open for lunch. You could try a walk-up at B&C. If that doesn't work, Ale & Compass at YC is close by or, if you want an ice cream/soda fountain type place, head to the Fountain at the Dolphin. Fresh at the Dolphin will also be open as will the grill by the Swan/Dolphin pool which is very nice.

For lunch, if you want Beaches and Cream, you generally need an ADR. Unless you are eating at an off time, they are usually packed. Big River Grille is easy to walk up and the food is good.

I agree with DisneyWishes 14 Big River Grille is an easy walk up or walk over to the Dolphin.

If something more casual would suit you, I'd go to Boardwalk Bakery to get a cupcake and a sandwich and sit outside if the weather was nice.

Also does anyone know where to get a good grilled cheese on property? One not on goldfish bread lol

Not traditional grilled cheese but at BOG I usually get the croque madame at breakfast or croque monsieur at lunch. I believe the French qs in Epcot also has those. They’re not traditional grilled cheese but they are tasty. For just a plain grilled cheese I just order from the kids menu.

Beaches and cream has grilled cheese with tomato soup. We enjoyed the sandwiches at the bakery and the ice cream at Ample Hills is a must do for us every trip.

We thought ESPN was terrible when we were last there for a 6:30 dinner, in September. Granted, we were told it was the first day of a new menu but all 5 of us were disappointed. We had a variety of fairly simple meals from burgers to sandwiches to dinner salads. Nothing great! Oh, and the restaurant (and the Boardwalk, in general) was practically a ghost town.

We had a 11:50 “breakfast” at Trattoria El Fortno, it was really excellent. And bonus of Flynn Rider!

I have to second this. If you are not opposed to breakfast for an early lunch this is a great character meal (if you’re looking for one). Flynn is the best. And tons of adults were there sans kids. Even a few solo folks. Enjoy your trip and happy (early) birthday!

We had dinner our last trip at Trattoria al Forno and it was awesome! Atmosphere was nice, wine list was terrific, food was reasonably priced and totally yummy. We live in Washington, DC and I would pay for this meal outside of the Disney bubble. We can't wait to go back again... I had the risotto and my husband still raves about the Pasta Carbonarra. Next door is the Abaracadabar which was fun and the Boardwalk has nice evening entertainment... with Ample Hills next door- its a total evening out.

We went there once. I thought it was terrible and assumed that people went primarily for the sports, not the food. Never been back.

I think more or less the same thing about Big River Grilling Co. The food is meh, not bad, but meh. The beer, however, is good.

I really like the Fountain at the Dolphin for lunch. Limited menu, similar to B&C, but no need for an ADR.

They have a croque monsieur at the French counter service bakery in Epcot, not grilled cheese but like that with ham?

I love the food at the countries in Epcot; I think there is much more there for lunch than on the Boardwalk. It's a short walk!
