Best Board Budget Tips?

What has been the best budget tip you found on this board? (If we get some pretty good responses, I'll compile it all in a list at the end so everyone can enjoy!)

The best tip I found was to sign up for mousesavers.com newsletter. (It saved me a BUNCH on lodging!)

A close second would be bringing along a Brita water bottle to the parks.

The best tip I got from this board was to open an INGDirect savings account, I've saved ALOT of money for my trip in June
and I just opened it in January, besides that just everything on this board is the best, everyone has great tips and ideas for the budget minded! great idea by the way

My best received tip would be budgeting for our trip by labelling envelopes for different meals, car rental, tips, etc. and putting the money saved into the envelop so that instead of having to save say $800. I break it down to smaller amounts and when I cover the costs of a meal or tips or something I put that in my envelop and it is saved and sealed.

I have 2 that are both airline related

1. Keep checking your fares even after you have purchased. If the fare goes down request a voucher. I have saved a total of $195 from 2 separate occasions.

2. Check seating assignments online. If you plane is overbooked and you are not in a hurry plan ahead, try to get bumped. Pack an overnight bag of essentials because your checked baggage goes on without you. We were bumped twice 2 weeks ago and received (3) $400 checks and (3) $400 travel vouchers. Made $2400.00 on that trip! YEAH!
