Hi everyone,

Well, here's the story. Seems after our first trip we talked WDW up so much that Mom and Dad have decided to join us on our next trip (along with brother, sister, B-I-L and nephew). My parents and my immediate family (me, DW and 3 kids) will be staying at PO Riverside. We chose POR because it can accomadate 5 in 1 room. I would like to get opinions on which bldgs you would suggest.

Here is what I would like the rooms to have in order of importance:

1. Wheelchair accessible

2. Balcony with very nice view maybe a pool view so kids can wave at grampa when they are in the pool

3. Connecting rooms this way I can have mom and dad watch the kids so we can hit PI!!

4. Adjacent rooms, if we can't get the connecting rooms

5. Near busses but not too far from parking lots. We will be using the Disney transportation system Mom and Dad will be using their car.

6. Free...OK this one would be nice, but I understand if no one can help me with this last one.

Thanks

Welcome.
Here's a phone number that can help with your arrangements:
WDW Resort Special Reservations at (407) 939-7807 (voice) or (407) 939-7670 (TTY)
Keep in mind that there may not be a room that meets all your wishes (minus the free; can't help you with that one ;) ).
Not all the rooms are set up for 5 in a room. You might want to check on the Resort Board to see if someone knows which ones are. I also don't know where the connecting rooms are. The number above should have all that information. That would be better than just requesting a certain building number. Here's a link to the PO-R map: http://wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/dixiemap.jpg
The main pool is in the center (near where it says "Fishing Hole"). You can't really see that pool from any of the rooms as far as I remember. The grey, windy thing is a little river. Where you see a line crossing it, there is a bridge. The bridges are bumpy and steep to go up and down in a wheelchair. The things on the map labeled "Depot" and "Platform" are bus stops.

The balconies at PO-R are not exactly what I would call balconies. They are outside hallways that go in front of the doorways into the rooms. They are not private and you don't really see people sitting there. You would need to bring a chair out from your room and it's kind of like sitting on a sidewalk.
For the wheelchair accessibility part, there are rooms with different levels of accessiblity. Some are totally wheelchair accessible, with roll in showers and roll under sinks. Others might have a tub with grab bars and a raised toilet seat with grab bars. Think of what you will need and ask a lot of questions.
Good luck and have fun.
