I just booked a quick trip to the World in June for my 40th birthday. We will be going into the parks only on that one day. I know I should probably spend the whole day in MK, especially since it's really the MK that will be turning 40, like me. :rotfl: But I love the other parks, too, especially Epcot. So the plan is to go to AK Morning Extra Magic Hours probably just for the hour since there are only 2-3 things we will want to do. Then we are headed to Epcot for a few hours where we will have lunch at Le Cellier. Yum!!! I will end at the MK; I hope to be there by 4:00, and it closes at 11:00. The question is where should I have my birthday dinner? None of the table service restaurants really appeal to me at the MK. I love Ohana but I'm not sure I want to leave the park just to eat. We will be on the Deluxe Dining Plan, so I definitely want to eat at a table service restaurant. Does anyone have any suggestions?

CRT. Perfect for a birthday at the MK. We love Ohana's too but that would end up costing several hours of park time!

I thought about this, but even though it's my birthday, I have to think about my family. I have 2 teenage sons, and I think they would feel pretty uncomfortable eating here. Plus it's 2 table service credits, and I want to spend only one. CRT is something I would love to do one day with my granddaughter (if I have one one day. :goodvibes).

I would say CRT for you maybe since you are on the Deluxe Dining plan, but personally I would go to Kona Cafe.

my favorite in MK is crystal palace. the food there for dinner is my favorite at a character meal.

Well it depends on your boys, they might LIKE all those girls and the potential kisses!!!

Doubt they want pooh either. Not much else that is birthday special without leaving the parks. LOTS of choices at any of the monorail resorts. Maybe count Le Cellier as your BD meal and just grab CS n enjoy the park. Three parks and two sit downs in one day is a LOT.

Too funny! :lmao: This is exactly what I told them. They just looked at me like I was crazy! They are so not into girls yet; seriously, all they think about is fishing.

I have thought about just grabbing CS, but I'm really not worried about park time too much. We will probably try to ride only 3-4 things and watch Wishes. We are more into the atmosphere and the restaurants than trying to do everything. I also figured on a HOT June day, we would enjoy the air-conditioned relaxation of a table-service meal. Plus I can't seem to even think about doing CS if I'm on the Deluxe Plan. Got to get my money's worth!

Thanks for the reply!

if you're eating lunch at a place like le cellier why not consider skipping a traditional dinner and doing the dessert party instead? it's a little bit of a party atmosphere in itself. i really don't like any of the sit down places at mk. with older kids i'd say maybe the plaza but it's very informal and just doesn't scream 40th bday to me (we just returned from my sisters 40th bday trip as well so i have given it a little thought lol). i would suggest considering the wave at the contemporary. it's only one stop off the monorail or a quick walk (literally one mile from thunder mountain to the door of the contemporary if that helps lol) you can toast your birthday with a nice cocktail and it's not a two credit meal. ohana's is fun and loud type of place but takes a lot longer to get through the meal.

I will be eating at Kona for the first time next month. If I like it better than Ohana, I may consider it instead. Which would take less time?

I definitely thought about the dessert party. I don't think it's being offered in June though. I'm going to keep checking. Thanks for the reply!

Well, if you really want make it memorable, go ahead use those 2 credits at Hoop-Dee-Doo. Your teenage sons will try not to crack a smile for 2 hours -- and that alone will make it memorable ;)

3 parks in 1 day in June on your 40th? I couldn't have done that at 20 :)

Ok, maybe try staying at the MK till about 9:00 and doing a late ADR at one of the monorail resorts and then calling it a night. For 1 TS, maybe the wave, or go ahead and go for Ohanna's if that is not too much food that late. Or make a earlier ADR and then head back to the park for a couple late, AKA cooler, hours.

Take a boat ride over to Wilderness Lodge and go to Whispering Canyon

Well that's where we are going the day before my birthday. If I leave the park, I will definitely do Ohana or Kona. I was just wondering if there is a good restaurant IN the park.
