Best beaches?

Where do you guys think are the nicest beaches in Florida? I'd like to visit some really pretty ones while we are on our honeymoon this May. I've heard Sarasota is nice? I'd like a beach that has nice little restaurants and bars overlooking the sea. Is there anywhere like this in Florida? I have been to Cocoa Beach before, and it was nice, but there was only a pizza hut to go and have a drink at.

we loved st petes beach, spent a few days there a few years back but got evacuated back to orlando but the beach was stunning

Cool, how long does it take to get there?

Clearwater is beautiful, also about an hour from Orlando. We usually make an effort to head there for a day!

And another!! I live by the beach in the UK but would willingly swap it with St Petes Beach!!

Looks like St Pete's it is then. Might go to Sarasota too. Is there shops, bars/restaurants at St Pete's?

Clearwater beach is beautiful with good amenities. Very clean. We visited for the day last August - we were staying on International Drive - it was exactly 100miles from our hotel to the beach - took 90 minutes. Easy to get to. Car parking is limited - try to get there early.

I vote for Clearwater or St. Petes Beach as well but if you are going down to Sarasota I would recommend stopping around Longboat Key. There is a really nice restaurant on Bradenton Beach overlooking the gulf that is really nice especially at sunset!
