I am planning a trip to WDW the Day after Thanksgiving. It is my ds (9) and I this trip. I am leaning towards the meal plan but want to know which ts resturants would be the best value for us for dinner?

Trails end is a great value when paying cash...but not on the meal plan.

If your looking to maximize your dining plan, book Le Cellier, Teppanyaki, Spoodles, Cinderellas Royal Table (dinner), etc. Check out some of the recent reviews from dining plan vacationers. Several of us have done legnthy reviews with prices....

Here's mine....scroll down a bit for table service...

The best value would be dining someplace you might not otherwise, or whereever you'd like to, and not worrying about getting an entree that's $1 more at one place than another for the sake of "maximizing' the plan.

The best bang for the buck is eating what you WANT to eat. You should save money regardless.

Exactly. It isn't a value to order the $26 steak at Le Cellier if you aren't a fan of red meat - even if it is a good "value" for the plan.

All Disney restaurants that I'm aware of serve ample portions, on the dining plan you won't go hungry anywhere with an appitizer, entree, and dessert.

Another thing to consider is that my idea of value and yours may not be the same. Buffets are a poor value to me (even Boma). The quality is less than I want from the food. But a lot of people think the quality is fine and buffets are a great value - they get to sample a lot of different things, can eat as much as they wish, and leave thinking its wonderful. A better value for me - although much more expensive, is to have a nice sit down meal at Narcoosees.

It isn't so much about what you can find in WDW to eat--as the other posters said, there are many many wonderful choices...it's more about avoiding the very expensive sit downs unless your family truly will appreciate the food and the ambiance. I know we waited until DD and DS were older and could learn and enjoy the experience. A good mix is best IMO and keep your family's ages and food preferences in mind :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

That's why I suggested checking out the menus/prices. We have the dining plan, but are eating where we want to eat, not where the prices are the highest. There is no "bang for the buck" if you eat some place where you don't like any of the menu choices.

If you mean best bang for your buck w/o the dining plan, I think the Biergarten in Germany is pretty good (unless you order 2 liters of beer). We also think that most lunches are the same food as dinner only cheaper. We tend to eat a late, big lunch out and then snack our way around the World later. Restaurants under this category include Teppanyaki, Marrakesh, Crystal Palace, Rose and Crown, etc.

Some places are only open at dinner so then you have to decide. We like to do special dinners on non-park night that are a trip in themselves. Ohana is nice for this because you can spend the evening at the Poly resort. ESPN is great food at decent prices and then you can stay and do the boardwalk. Boma is another one. Actually, so is Chef Mickeys (you can do the great arcade after dinner then watch EWP or fireworks from there). I think then you are getting a whole evening out of your dinner money.
