I can't decide what kind of bag to bring into the parks, crossbody or a backpack? Let me know what you're favorites are! :rainbow:

I used a backpack last time! It worked really well, although there were a couple days were it hurt my shoulders more than others..I don't know if it was heavier for some reason or if I was just walkinig more?

I wouldn't want to use a crossbody, because then I feel like the weight is just pulling down on one shoulder, where as a backpack it's kind of evenly distributed

How much are you carrying?

I'm using this -

Very cute (at least for touring theme parks) not big but holds my phone in a zippered compartment, wallet, kleenex, little hand sanitizer, lip gloss, can put my sunglasses in it during rides. Fits over the shoulder comfortably and hits my hip at the perfect spot.

Can also use on water rides. :)

With a backpack, though, you have to take it off everytime you want to get into it. A crossbody you don't.

This. You also have to take it off every time you sit down on a ride. With a crossbody, you can just shift it to your side to make room for lap bars. I've tried several crossbody bags, and my favorite is the Baggallini Everywhere Bag.

We went to REI and purchased a waist/fanny pack. We were concerned about looking like dorks, but it was a great purchase. We stuffed everything in that thing! It was so well made with so many compartments that we had no trouble fitting everything in that our family of 5 needed (including our son's insulin and testing kit).

As a woman, it was a strange feeling leaving the room every morning with no purse. I couldn't shake the thought that I was forgetting something, but I loved the freedom of walking around without being restricted by a bag.

I use a Baggalini bag too. I think it's called the messenger bag. It's medium sized and waterproof. Works great for us!

I have been wearing a Pacsafe waist pack and love being hands free. When it's time to take a picture, I just shift the pouch to the back and cover the strap with my shirt. I look "bag free" in all the pictures. No trace of having the waist pack on me throughout the trip at all.

I like this! I think I might look into getting a baggallini,
it would fit everything I need and could just keep it on most of the day without hurting my back :thumbsup2

I have a Baggalini messenger bag. It is a bit on the larger side, but I love it. It holds a lot, but I never notice the weight of it.

I have a Piazza day bag, but the strap is not as comfortable as the Baggalini. I put that one to use for short day trips, or trips to the grocery store.

I use the Baggallini Messenger Bagg. It is really lightweight, huge inside, and is water-resistant. I love it! It is a crossbody, but sits more on your back so you don't feel like you are hanging to one side. It's great on rides, I usually just slip it to the front and it's good to go!

I will be taking a small Vera Bradley backpack - one like this (in a different pattern)

I only need to carry my own things as it is an adult trip & we will all probably have a small bag of some sort and I don't find it a hassle to remove for rides when needed :)

I use a Very Bradley mini hipster, it holds all my credit cards, phone Chapstick, purell, Advil etc. I don't carry much. I remember the days of huge backpacks with everything but the kitchen sink in it. Now that the kids are older they are responsible for their own stuff. My one son usually gets stuck with all their stuff which amounts to a small backpack.

Yes, it's great! It's smaller than other bags, but I was surprised at how much it holds. And the zipper pockets are the best, stuff is totally safe on rides. :) And it's easy to fit in the seats with!

The overland equipment donner bag is another good cross body bag. It has two water bottle spots, one on each side; holds a lot for its size; and has good organization.

I rode crowded public transit for years and for me the problem with backpacks is unless the wearer is very careful, the person standing behind him/her is likely to get whacked with it. I found this as both the wearer and the person getting whacked. So I try to avoid wearing backpacks in crowds.

That said, I have been eyeing the bagallini brisk, which converts from a crossbody to a backpack. It's new so I'm not finding many reviews.

We carried a back pack for years until 2 years ago when I decided to travel light. I used a cross body Baggallini and loved the freedom - but I looked like a goof in pictures until I remembered to take it off! Sorry, I can't pull of the bright blue sash look - and I felt like it accentuated my chest region - something I really don't need!

With our niece, we went back to the backpack (2 kids means more stuff). This year, I might do a combo of both. I like the backpack for parks where we are probably getting wet (I carry dry socks or crocs for everyone), or when I am bringing lots of camera gear. I love the Crossbody for DTD or half-park days.

Indecisive - that's me!

I have been eyeing the donner bag too. I like the piazza and the kayla but I wish ebags had something inbtwn these 2 sizes. The piazza doesnt look big enough for a change of clothing and shoes for my son and all the other stuff we'd need but the kayla looks larger than my diaper bag.

People say the donner bag is a PIA to open b/c of the velcro. Is it really that obnoxious?

I use one of these too! It's amazing how much I can fit in there—DSLR camera, rain jacket, autograph books, travel documents, wallet, sunscreen, and pens. I like how the straps look good in pictures so I don't have to take my backpack off to get a good pic:thumbsup2

Vera Bradley Mini Hipster for me. we shared a backpack between my family and my sisters and took turns carrying it. My niece was 2/3 last trip and the water bottles were stored under her stroller seat. Next trip will be the first time with no stroller, I guess we will need to figure out how to split up the water.
