Not sure where this should be posted, so sorry if its in the wrong spot. Was wondering what the best backpack for the parks would be. Leaving in 10 days and discovered my little backpack is no longer sufficient for the baby items we need to bring this year. Need something kind of big and light weight and durable. Thanks!

If you're looking for something big, I think any backpack that you think is comfortable would work.

If you need something smaller but still versatile then you need to start getting picky. For something like that, I suggest the Baggalini Messenger Sling bag. I'm assuming you'll have a stroller, so remember you can always leave stuff in it in ziploc bags (like diapers and stuff people won't steal).

I love the Vera Bradley backpacks.

I just ordered a Vera Bradley Lighten Up Large backpack for our upcoming WDW. Even though I got it on sale, I've still never spent that much for a backpack. Man, I hope I love it.

Can you tell me what you like/dislike about your Vera Bradley backpack? What kind do you have?

Under Armour breathable backpack is what I switched to. and I love it. has many pockets, lightweight, breathable, side pockets for waters, its also RED BLACK and WHITE I added a little YELLOW to match the mouse hehe

I got mine from a camping store. It has an attatched stool which makes it very convenient to sit while waiting for a bus etc. It looks something like this.
I wonder what the Disney rules are for that, since they explicitly prohibit folding chairs.

I also just noticed that they have a size limit on backpacks, 24x15x18. I wonder how strictly they enforce that.

A lot of great bag recommendations in this post! I just ordered TWO bags recommended here! I need to stop viewing these links. LOL

Seriously, I'm going to get a lot of use out of both bags. I prefer a backpack to a purse.

I am going to exercise some control and refrain from ordering anything else! :)

Oh wow, I didn't know that! I was going to try to find a small, portable, fold up chair for the parades. I'm glad I read your post.

I guess I better read these "rules" in preparation for our WDW trip. Geesh!

Ordered the same Gonex pack that is linked a few posts above. But in red! I bought it for me, but my 15 year old son wanted it so I gave to him and bought myself a MIO backpack that is similar and very lightweight and comfortable.
He has used the Gonex for a 2 day boy scout camp, our 9 day trip to disney (used every day for parks) his airplane carry on both ways, and just did another week long Boy scout camp (been a busy summer!) and then another theme park day at home. It has been great - he loves it and it is holding up very well. You will need zip locks to keep things dry in though, as it is not water proof.

I like my Mio pack too, but a seam did split and I had to sew it up. I left that review on Amazon and got a response that they have improved the backpack and want to discuss with me. I just emailed them this am...we will see.

I love VB too but worry about it getting soaked on rainy days.

Good luck and have fun.

We like the Osprey daypack. It's $50, weighs ounces and the storage layout just makes sense. We use it year round for sports, hiking, theme parks etc.

I have one of these (it's the Osprey Daylite for anyone interested) and I really like it. I don't use it for Disney because I don't have kids and don't need a backpack, but it's very lightweight and comfortable to wear. I use it for a laptop bag.

The guards at security love it since it stands alone while they look through it. It is not recomended for parades, but I have used it for a few minutes here and there while going through a slow queue to a show etc.
