Best baby carrier in the parks

I used an infantino mei tai to shlep my 5 year old up and down mountains in Norway. I think it will do just fine for a baby at Disney. :)

I'll be bring my Boba with me for my 18 month old and I loved it at 2 months old too.

What about the Boba Air which is lighter, easy to fold up and breathable for hot weather?

I will be bringing a Moby wrap as well as an Ergo wrap w/infant insert in April. Baby will be just under 4 months old, so hoping one works well. :goodvibes

My ERGO is khaki, the lightest color they have, but it was WAY to hot to use at WDW in early fall. Taking it on and off to cool down was a major pain, so after the first day I left it in our room and stuck to my sling for the rest of the trip. (With a 10 wk old in Sept; exact scenario as the OP.)

RING SLING. Preferably light-colored mesh at that time of year. You can use it in several different configurations if you buy a bit of extra length. The tail acts as a sunshade and provides nursing privacy as well. (FWIW, IME the best outfit for nursing in the parks is a stretchy tank top under an open short-sleeved shirt; pull the tank inward from the armhole.).

I did five different trips with kids under 8 months: the ring sling was the best option, hands down, because it was much cooler to wear, compact to store, and easy to take off and on.

Ergo makes a "performance" model that is MUCH thinner than the original and not as hot. The key is to dress in good wicking material for you (like a workout tank) and dress baby lightly.

Baby #2 is due in August. We don't have a trip to Disney planned yet but I'm considering getting a carrier for trips to the zoo, mall, etc as I also have a 2.5 year old. I didn't baby wear at all with my 1st. Since I have budgetary constraints, I'm considering either the Infantino Sync Comfort Carrier or the Infantino Mei Tai. Opinions?

Infantino makes a carrier that is just like the Ergo but Much cheaper. The Infantino Union Ergonomic Carrier. It is only $30 and is a great option for those wanting a buckle carrier but can't shell out for an original. I have used one and several friends as well and I find it comparable to the Ergo Performance model. After two kids and wearing one or the other child basically daily, we have tried a lot of carriers. I find buckle style carriers to be the easiest to learn and adjust, especially for daddies (who should be encouraged to wear too!). Ring slings are great but if you end up with a very heavy or very wiggly baby it can make it hard on your shoulders and the baby can "pop their seat" easier as they get bigger. My first born was fine in a ring sling but my second born is far too wiggly to sit in one and has almost fallen a few times (and as I said, I'm an experienced wearer). Check FB for babywearing groups and resale groups. I have nabbed some amazing carriers for a steep discount. :)

For baby comfort , one must focus on quality rather than how expensive or cheap a baby carrier is ...I must say that there is no comparison of Ergobaby carrier than any other brand so far

In a perfect world every family could drop $100+ on a carrier. But the above person said they have a strict budget - having budget friendly options is important. The important thing is that more people are wanting to babywear - whether that is in a homemade ring sling or in a $200 carrier, it doesn't really matter as long as mom and baby like it. :) When I started babywearing it was with cheaper carriers and used carriers until I could save up for others and our situation changed.

I used a Beco for my then 8 month old in September and loved it. I had been wearing him since he was a few weeks old (had head control) with the hood and it was fine. It is hot, but we didn't have the issues with the beco and were able to wear him on rides fine. DH was able to wear him easily in the beco as well.

I also loved my ring slings when he was little but always carried him upright - so if you want to go that route just practice which carry is most comfortable for the two of you.

I'd also suggest a few fans for the stroller - you can buy them cheaper if you do so before you go. He would nap in the stroller at times and they really helped to keep him cool :)

Ergobaby carrier is best to take in parks to carry babies.. In it baby is ergonomically cradled in a natural sitting position.. It never hurts baby or mother

Ergo might be the most known baby carrier for baby wearing, but it isn't the only decent carrier that does the job correctly. There are quite a few brands at all price points. I had a beco butterfly II, which was very nice. Now all of my friends with younger ones talk about Tula and kinder pack.

I don't think anyone has mentioned the style of baby carriers that are not good for baby. We can thank Ergo's popularity for the other becoming less popular. It really isn't the only brand, and it isn't always the best fit.

I always wore a sling, easy on/off, and can be used as a light blanket too if needed....ultimate versatility IMHO each person is different. (FWIW, I used to the weirdo pushing a stroller with the 6 yo hitching a ride and the 6 m.o. baby in a sling on me too lol):rotfl2:

And I say that I think you probably have a vested interest in promoting Ergo carriers. 3 posts and all of them on this thread; that's a tad obvious.

I used a sling and an ergo - depending on age the ergo would be my recommendation (or a similar backpack style).
