YEAH! I have never been to Mandina's though. My in-laws love to eat at Short Stop when they come to visit. They live north of Houston, TX now but grew up in the New Orleans area and moved away when my DH was in high school. They always come down for Mardi Gras and we all ride in a truck float on Mardi Gras day.

Wow that is so cool. My family has always said they are going to do that one day, but no one ever does. I rode once in a city day parade and it was a blast ! Since having the kids we usually do Lee Circle the Saturday before and skip the whole Fat Tuesday thing. I can remember a time when I wouldn't miss Mardi Gras for the world.

I think Mandina's is open again. Try the gumbo ... with a Barq's of course !

I just absolutely love PassPorter!!! I did not take it on my trip. I just yanked out the pockets in the back and the maps. I got mine months and months ahead of time so I could read up. I pretty much know it all but it's always fun re-reading things. You never know what you may learn though. And, I have their Planning e-book. Loved it!!!!

Disneydad and Orange blossom....the camper sleeps six adults and two short people or children, lol. So it's me, DH, Trentsmom, her DH & DS can be one of the little people, so that leaves room for 2 more adults and one more child so come on and squeeze in!!!

It's a 35 foot fifth wheel with one slide out, so we'll get you in there somewhere, lol.

Hmm...It is mostly recuperated. There is a lot of new construction going on and "improvements" going on. I miss the old slidell. Seems like everytime I turn around they are clearing another lot and building something new and I miss the trees and country feel. I live in a wooded subdivision with a bayou in my backyard. Personally, we are still in renovations. Our flooring is mostly remnant carpet my husband got for free, there is no paint on the walls, and our kitchen sink is our only sink in the house but this was our choice. We made some much needed improvements to our home (it was built in1972 and the people we bought it from wrecked it) such as a water filtration system, all new duct work and air conditioning system and spray in foam insulation. So we are making the superficial renovations slowly over time. Slidell is still a great place to live, but a lot busier.

I am so sorry you had to go through a Hurricane....I have some really good friends who lost everything...They are in Mississippi....

Hey, at least you gave her a chance to at least look at it before you took it over for good to keep everything straight on your trip
it is a great guide...in addition to the UG. They both have a lot of the same stuff in there such as tips and things but they have a few different things as well which is really cool. I too can't way to use the last 10 pages with pockets and places to write all the details down so I can work on my TR in great detail when I get back. I now have to purchase a backpack so I can lug it around the parks with me.

No Kidding...I am taking some Diary Pages I got from another site...& then Transferring the Info to the Passporter to Bring Home!!!!
