I'm watching a wedding on tiktok live right now. The best wedding song is Take Me Home Country Roads. The worst wedding song is the Cha Cha Slide/Cupid Shuffle.
I knew an older couple my parents age that had House of the Rising Sun then a guy we know had his second wife walk down the aisle to Pearl Jam’s “Better Man” - I’m not sure which one is worse?
So at the wedding I watched last night, they played the cha cha slide and this one dude was getting so into it he started moving his arms in a wax on wax off style from the karate kid. What a hoot.
Most weddings I attend have line dances and funny songs, or at least they used to. The Chicken Dance was one of the ones I remember. The Alley Cat was another. And The Hustle.
The worst song I ever heard for a first dance was 3 Times A Lady. Did they not listen to the lyrics before choosing that?
Agree. A lot of my age group used Daddy's Liitle Girl. My Dad didn't care for that song. My Sis and I both used Lulu's To Sir With Love. It's the title song from the Sidney Poitier movie.

The last wedding I went to was my youngest niece's. Her Dad danced with her to I Loved Her First by Heartland, and we were all crying. To Sir With Love isn't a song that comes immediately to mind for a father/daughter dance, but I like it, yeah. It fits.

That is a great Father/ Daughter song. My Sis and I grew up in the 60s/70s . So not in time for us. We heard some bad Father/Daughter songs at weddings growing up . I rewatched the movie in my early 20s. After hearing the song , I knew that would be the one when the time came.
I went to a wedding in the 90s and they had “ I will Always LoveYou”. I have alway wondered why this song is a popular wedding song. It is a song about someone leaving and saying goodbye,
This is so interesting to me that you said country roads. I have never in the States heard Country Roads at a wedding. then I went to a wedding in Ireland and it was a huge deal when they played it.
