Best and worst ideas for life hacks from social media

re: Spice Storage.

I have a small kitchen where cabinet space is an issue, and was struggling with various solutions. I didn't want to buy the individual magnetic spice containers because I don't like transferring stuff out of their original containers, unless it's to break up Costco sized stuff. So I bought magnetic spice racks from Amazon to stick on the fridge instead. I can keep everything in its original container, it uses space that was not being utilized, and it's really convenient when cooking. These are the ones I bought.

I don't really do a lot of hacks, I don't think. The only ones I can really think of are the Dawn + vinegar cleaning solution for the bathtub. And an oldie I learned from my Mom, not social media, but found out more recently that a bunch of people didn't know, was to stick a piece of bread in with cookies. The bread gets hard, the cookies stay soft.
Putting bread in with brown sugar also helps to keep the sugar soft. It will even soften it up.

when i was a kid it was my mom's practice to put a single saltine cracker into the sugar container she kept on the counter. it was always a treat when the container got refilled to be offered that salty sweet cracker.

I’m sure many of you already do this but I had never seen the hack of filling a dish scrub brush with half dawn/half vinegar and using it to scrub shower walls. It works so well, I now have one in my shower all the time. I love giving the walls a little scrub when I first get in the shower. Total time saver.

i pour mine into gallon ziplock bags (generic brand w/zippers). as they empty i can roll them and get the air out-stays fresh/takes up no space (great for collecting the crumbs and bits for those cereals you use for breading).
What a great idea never thought of saving the crumbs. Sometimes there are a lot and try not get get any in my bowl.

You can use about anything for crumbs for casseroles—stale crackers, Misc cereals, bread ends. Sometimes I’ll pulse them in my food processor, put them in a Ziploc and freeze til needed. Also good with leftover (real) cheese bits mixed in.
