After reading through these threads I did not find what I was looking for--

Looking for opinions on best airport hotel for our mid-evening arrival to Orlando, before we check in to our Disney resort. We will require an airport shuttle to hotel and would love some sort of light breakfast offerings. Pool would be great. THanks all!

since we're having trouble finding morning flights, I really don't want to loose a day at Disney. SO I'm thinking of flying down a day earlier and staying at something close to airport. Would mess up the whole Magic Express though huh?

I've stayed at the Hyatt at the airport. It's very nice!! We just booked it again for our last night in Orlando in December. It's a nice hotel and cheap thru hotwire ($68+tax.)

I always suggest bidding on a 3* property in the MCO area through Priceline...usually a bid in the mid $40's can get a room at either the Hyatt inside the airport, the Holiday Inn Select, the Marriott, the Renaissance or the Sheraton Suites....all have complimentary shuttle service 24/7, nice pools and are very nice properties (none include complimentary breakfast, although for what you save you can more than buy breakfast as all have nice places to eat).

Sometimes you get lucky and get the Hyatt inside the airport although not too often....although I have decided the rooms are substantially larger at the other places and with their excellent shuttle services they are just as easy to use.

As far as messing up the DME service....you would need to claim your own bags on arrival (do NOT use the DME tags they send you) and take them with you to the hotel over night. The next AM you could return to the airport via the hotel's complimentary shuttle service with your luggage and go to the DME check in desk with your bags. (you would need to have booked your DME for the AM you plan to travel to Disney, NOT for the evening you arrived. Since they ask for flight information you will probably need to find a flight that arrives sometime around the time you want to take the DME to WDW and provide those flight #'s to minimize confusion)...but since you will collect your bags and take them to DME check in yourself it should not be a problem.

I like the Hyatt at the airport, it's nice that you don't have to leave. I have gotten it on Priceline for around $35-$40. I have not use Hotwire before but if it's a guaranteed hotel I would book the Hyatt for $68, it's worth it. Priceline might be a little cheaper but there is no guarantee which hotel you'll win.

Some people have stayed at the Hyatt and then taken ME in the morning to their hotel at DW.

Looking on hotwire for 10/30 1 night and being offered 3.5 star with business center for $67. What's my chances this is the Hyatt? Really wanna stay here. Any sure way to tell?

Princess Katie:

The hotwire listing for 10/30 at $67 rated as 3.5* and no shuttle icon IS the Hyatt at the airport. If you want to stay there I would go for it....that is a very good price for that property and although you could get something on Priceline cheaper in that area you would not be guarenteed the Hyatt....so if staying at the airport is important to you I would bite on that one!!

wow, i just tried Hotwire and find the airport hotels coming up as $85 for the lowest and the highest was $145 which i am assuming is the hyatt since it did not list shuttle icon. i guess december is just higher priced...

thanks all for your suggestions!

You could probably do better on Priceline if Hotwire prices are that high for your night. Just stick to a 3* in the MCO area...if you decide to try a Priceline bid I would try about $50 for starters since Hotwire is so high for your date.
