Come on!!!

Don't you Wang Chung?

I used to have a boss who ended all pep talks (& there were a lot of pep talks) with "Everybody Wang Chung out there today! Everybody have fun!" Nobody knew what the heck she was talking about, but it definitely stuck in your head.

It's the Safety Dance!

I found that cassette (cut-out, of course) in a discount bin at Walgreens for like 34¢ and physically wore the thing out. The tape actually disintegrated from overuse. :teeth:

Anything from Madonna, Phil Collins, Hall and Oates, Prince, Michael Jackson. They were all my favorites back in the day!!

I actually used Private Idaho for a school talent show once

I have about 50 of those "compilation" CDs with songs from the 80s!!!

Our teen boys are mortified everytime they get in the vehicle with me. A quote from DS 17, "What's the deal? Do you have a thing for the 80s or what? Have you actually bought a CD since 1989?"

He couldn't believe I had bought most of them in the last 2 years!!!

I like all of the songs mentioned on here. One of my alltime favorites was "Born in the USA". I think I wore that album out. :rotfl:

Forever Young by Alphaville.

That was our prom theme. :goodvibes Thought it was too funny on an episode of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" when part of the show took place at a prom and they also played that song (a mere 14 years after I graduated...sigh.)

In no particular order:

Jump - Van Halen
Melt With You - Modern English
Hourglass - Squeeze
What You Need - INXS
Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran
China Girl - David Bowie
I Just Died In your Arms Tonight - Cutting Crew
Something So Strong - Crowded House
Every Little Thing She Does is Magic - The Police
Where the Streets Have No Names - u2
Hard to Laugh - The Pursuit of Happiness
Simply Irrisistable - Robert Palmer
Bang a Gong - Power Station
Take On Me - Ah-Ha

Ya, so, I went to 14...thats life!

:-)

Now that I have had some time to think, I can't believe I forgot to add:

Rush- Just about anything by them. Especially "Subdivisions" and "Spirit of Radio", so many more, can't list them all.

Also, thanks to the poster who mentioned Bryan Ferry, I still think "Slave to Love" is one of the all time sexiest songs, along with "Wicked Game" by Chris Issac.

And the poster who mentioned "This Woman Work" by Kate Bush. Unsexy but so beautiful.

And why no Weird Al?? Come on! He's genius!

I love 80's music but I was only very young back then so I know the songs but not many of the artists or the names of the songs, so I've been trying to catch up ever since

Thats pretty much all I listen to so it would be silly for me to list them all. Someone posted about Living on a Prayer(Bon Jovi) that was mid '80s. My brother was in high school at the time it came out. He graduated in '87 I think. Great song!! For work I have made some CDs with what I refere to as 'guilty pleasure' songs. Lots of '80s and some '70s. I love it when people start singing, then realize they are singing Andy Gibb! :teeth:

I was a huge Duran Duran fan in the 80's!!! I think Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi was our middle school (8th grade) dance song from 1986!! What memories!!!

Oh my gosh!! I love that song....I think it is by Men without Hats. I used to request it all the time on Friday night 80's on my local radio station.

Styx, Journey or REO

The 80's were the best.

I love Journey Open arms especially. But I love the 80's music in general.
