I am thinking of taking my step grandson to Disney with his mom for their first trip. It will be only 5 nights. He will be in first grade, so taking him out a few days will be not big deal. I hate the extreme heat, so it cannot be during the hot season. What 5 days would be the best 5 days as far as low crowds, and maybe some fun extras to do? Thanks!

We usually go the first week of December, low crowd, value season for pricing. Heat is anywhere from 60-70's. Pools can be a little cool though. Disney is decorated for Christmas by then and lots to do.

We were just there from 12/1-12/6 and had a great time. Crowds were low to moderate. The first two days the weather was great, but then it got rainy and cold.

One of my favorite times is in late October/early November or late April/early May. Weather is great (warm but not too hot) and the crowds tend to be light to moderate.

I agree with early December; we've gone at that time and really enjoy the decorations! The crowds are low until right before Christmas.

The times I would avoid, if given the choice (sometimes I am not, as we have to go when my kids are not in school) are

Christmas through New Year's Eve
Any major holiday (although we have gone over Easter, and really had a great time, and didn't notice huge crowds)
Mid Summer (late June through early August)

The fall is nice, and spring is as well. We have gone in March, and it is lovely to get an early spring. Often it is too cool for me to swim, but my kids will still get in the pool, or the hot tubs.

Hope you all have a great trip when you get it planned!

Happymommy - You said that you've gone over Easter and the crowds really weren't that bad? We're looking at going the day after Easter this year for 4nts. I'd love your input on this! I read that the first 2 weeks of April are considered high attendance but when we went for our honeymoon in '02 it wasn't bad at all (someone told me today though that it depends on when Easter is). And, are the crowds comparable to the summer because we went last June and it was awful.

Thanks for your help!!!
