If you had to choose, based on food first and atmosphere and service, which restuarant would you say is the best 2 dining credit place on WDW property?
We did Citricos, Brown Derby, Narcossees, Yachtman at the beginning of May and I have to say we hated Narcossees as our lobster was really chewy and it was the worse Filet Mignong we had during our stay. Yachtman was our favorite with a really Citricos as a really close second
Out of the 4 I did last year (AP, Jiko, Citrico's, and Yachtsman) I'd have to give the medal to Citrico's. Jiko was a VERY close second, but without the mac and cheese with their filet now, and the dessert that I happened to order there, it falls just slightly behind. In reality, I'd drop something else to go to both myself if it came down to that .
Doing FF, Citrico's, Jiko, CG, and LeCellier (dinner) this year, so I'll have a bit more to compare in October
Editing to say that all 4 I did last year were VERY good as well! So just because AP may have been #4, it was miles ahead of most other meals I ate.
I've been to every 2-credit restaurant quite a few times (except Cinderella's Royal Table, which doesn't matter to me since that experience isn't about the food). My favorite is Artist Point, both for the tranquil atmosphere and outstanding food (most of the time). Yachtsman is my least favorite, but it's the only one that I haven't been to this year, and I have to give it another chance on my next trip.
I would rank them from top to bottom: Artist Point, California Grill, Jiko, Narcoossee's (if you don't get the surf n' turf), Flying Fish, Le Cellier (dinner), Hollywood Brown Derby, Citricos, Yachtsman. But 1-3 are very close, and 4-7 are also close.
If it helps, here are my most recent reviews of 4 of these restaurants, from about a week ago. There are lots of food pics.
We did Le Cellier last week. Huge disappointment for our family. My kids (3 and 5) had to use 2 table credits for pasta. I wish I had understood that before we went, my fault.
Just a side note, it doesn't pay to use 2 TS credits for a signature, IMO, if on the basic dining plan. The only meal on property I could justify using 2 TS credits for is Hoop-Dee-Doo Review, while on the basic DDP.
Really, the service at FF was outstanding, the service at Citricos was very good. The particular food my BF happened to have at Citricos just was not as good as what I had the same night, but that happens sometimes, and nothing was bad.
Citricos, Flying Fish, Jiko - in that order but very close. I also love Cali Grill and Artist Point but have had disappointing meals at both at one time.
You didn't say whether you were on the dining plan or not, so if you decide to go upscale on property without using credits you NEED to go to bluezoo. It's hands down better than any of Disney's restaurants (yes I even liked it more by a hair than Victoria and Alberts) and I've never been disappointed and it's usually easy to get in there.
