I will be visiting Disney this April. I am currently booked at The Swan, but am considering staying offsite so my family of four can get a 2 bedroom suite.

Can any recommend a nice place to stay that offers a 2 bedroom suite?

What is the makeup of your family? Is it two adults and two kids, and if so how old are the kids?

There are many 2BR suites/villas that you can choose. Many posters talk about Windsor Palms, Wyndham Palms CC resort, Sheraton Vistana resort, Cypress Pointe, and on and on.

Just review the posts on this thread and you will get lots of information that should be helpful.

:jester: With your girls I would suggest Orangelake Golf and Country Club. Great activities for kids and adults and lots of other amenities. Other resorts that wdwisthebest meantioned are also great.

A villa is great if you want a lot of space and also plan to do alot of your own cooking, laundry, etc. If you are looking for more of a hotel environment, I highly recommend Holiday Inn Family Suites. There is a private (locking door) bedroom with a king sized bed, a themed kids room with bunk beds, and a separate living area with small kitchenette. Three TVs, two VCRs and Nintendo 64. We have stayed there twice with our two girls, once at 3 1/2 and 5 1/2, and once at 5 1/2 and 7 1/2, and we all loved it. There are tons of reviews about it here on the DIS, if you're interested.
Oh, you will probably see it referred to as HIFS.

We just got back in Nov. and stayed at Staybridge Suites (was Summerfield Suites) for 4 nights. It was a 2 bed. 2 bath suite with kitchen, family room, eating area. 3 tvs. Very nice. Cont Breakfast for 104. /night. It is around 1/4 mile from Crossroads Shopping Center--around 15 min. from the parks. 2 mi. from Downtown Disney. Good luck!

Del - can you please tell me more about Staybridge. We've got a 2 bedroom booked there for May, but I've been able to find relatively little about them on the boards (especially with the Search function operating so little). Do they have whirlpool baths in the master bathroom? If not, can you tell me about the outdoor spa? Can you tell me a little bit about the layout? Also, the pool, etc. We'll be spending pretty much one full day at the hotel, and I want the kids to have something to do. Is there a playground on-site?

My choices at this time cost-wise are this hotel at $99 a night, or a 3 bedroom at Cypress Pointe for $80. The villas at Cypress Pointe are $128 a night for the week we want, so I'm trying to keep this as cheap as possible. I'm just nervous about the Cypress Pointe resort as it gets mixed reviews, and I'm really leaning toward the Staybridge, just because I feel a little bit more confident about them.

Any information you can give me about your stay would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

Let me get my thinking cap on here:

Staybridge Suites was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 3 tv, full kitch, eating area, family area. The master had a king with a sink outside the shower/toilet area. (small) The master was off to the left --the kitchen, living, eating area in the middle, and the 2nd bed off to the right. 2 queen or dble beds with the same type of bath attached to it. No whirlpool in the rooms! Weekdays they provide "light" service of making beds and fresh towels. If you stay a week--they do a full cleaning. They said if you want service on the weekend to call--but they did it for us anyway.

We had a bottom floor end unit which was great!!! there are no elevators. We were near the parking area but a few rooms away from the pool. The pool was very nice. My 7 and 4 yo dd loved it. There was usually just one or two families there utilizing it. There was a jaczuzzi--small but we didn't use it. Laundry room right near the pool. I did a load while i was hanging out and kids napping and dh napping as well. No onsite playground. Not really a "resort" sort of place, but it was clean, big, spacious and met our needs.

The cont. breakfast was not to our liking. The coffee was usually low and the fruit was horrible which left alot of bread products to eat. You could get an omlette or waffle for extra. The breakfast area seemed messy --always waiting for things to get cleared off the tables. For us, nothing special at all.

The location was good. Traffic does build up near downtown disney so we would take the alternate highway route. The amount of red lights in that area was so significant it would add another 10 min to the ride if we hit them all.

What else can i answer?

Thanks Del! That gives me an idea of what we're looking at. Of course, I still can't decide which one I'd rather stay at. :)

The breakfast is kinda disappointing as that was definitely a plus by not having to make breakfast in the morning, but I guess we could just bring back to the room what we wanted and fry up some bacon in the microwave to add to it. I'm assuming they have milk and juices. That would save us a bunch right there with our kids. They drink a TON of milk!!

Do they have coffeemakers in the kitchens? My Dad drinks coffee round the clock. Kitchen utensils, plates, cups, etc.? Microwave? And I'm assuming a range top? Toasters?

We have already requested a ground floor room and been assured that it is on our reservation as medically requested. Neither of my parents would fair well with climbing stairs all week. Hopefully that will come through for us.

Do you remember if the outdoor spa looked like something you would feel comfortable getting in? This is really a major selling point with my husband. He would prefer a whirlpool in the bathroom but would be happy with the outdoor spa as long as it didn't look scary! :scared:

Thank you so much for your help!!

The kitchen set-up of Staybridge was great!!! Fully equipped. Coffee pot and housekeeping had left a few small samples of coffee to brew with sugar/swnlow--but not enough to really last so don't count on them. Pick up extra sugar packets. Plates, mugs, cups, forks, spoons are all in the room--pots too!! It came in handy when 1 dd was sick and i warmed up soup. Toaster--yes but it was broken. Stove top --yes. Microwave--yes Safe in room--yes

Milk and juice is plentiful at the breakfast--- cereal and bagels too!
Pick up extra sugar there.

The whirlpool is small. It didn't look frightning--but i didn't do any lab work on the water to test it--lol

so maybe it's fine--didn't see alot of kids using it. If we had the time, we would have used it and then rinsed off later (dh is an md).

Drop me a note if you have any other questions!
