There's six of us (4 adults, 2 kids) and I was wondering where to stay 1-night (we will be arriving late by car) before we check in at OKW the next morning. I prefer a suite that will fit us all, but that's not set in stone. Looking for something that isn't too expensive, but clean and comfortable so we can get a good night sleep.

Any suggestions?

Oh, the stories I could tell you.........;)

Just kidding.

I would suggest trying a Downtown Disney resort. These resorts are very close to OKW.

I would think Doubletree Suites would "suite" (sorry for the pun) your purposes just fine.

There are definitely cheaper options out there but for me and mine, close proximity to all things Disney is most important.

The nice thing about staying close to our DVC resort is it is a very short drive in the morning to do early check-in at SSR, get our tickets/dining plan and give DVC our room location preference. I like to think it improves our chances on getting the location we want. Then, we can either hit the parks immediately or hang out at our Downtown Disney resort until check-out, do some shopping at DTD, eat and wait for our DVC villa to become available.

Regards,

We like Quality Suites Maingate East. If you get there early enough, they have free happy hour by the pool each night from 5-7 pm. They have free breakfast. We stayed there in a one bedroom before checking into OKW on a spring break, and have a two bedroom booked for December. Each suite has a kitchen. It's reasonably priced.

How about 2 rooms at one of the value resorts?

How about the Omni at Champions Gate ?

......... the pool facilities look superb :goodvibes

We stayed at the Omni for two weekend nights in 2006. The pools do rock, and we really liked the lazy river.

The standard rooms are very plush but not large.

We got a Travelzoo special for $99.

You want to join their FF club.

It is about a 20 minute drive to/from OKW, that is where we stayed Sunday-Friday.

I have also stayed at Pop. If you can get a deal, the Omni is so very much nicer. While it is off site, the beds and linens are in a whle different league.
I do think you would need 2 rooms, although they have some suites option.

When arriving very late at night we've stayed at the airport Hyatt before. It's been a good way to avoid using those expensive weekend points nights. We've always been able to get it for a reasonably good rate, although I can't recall right now how much that was.

Travelodge Suites Maingate East Orange! Clean comfy room, clean bed, very clean pool an free breakfast 2.5 miles from the disney main gate. Cost us 40.00 a night over Labor Day weekend.
