Besides SSR, which DVC rooms are in best condition?

I'm trying to decide which DVC property to stay in. I did some research on tripadvisor.com, and many of the DVC properties get comments on the shabby condition of the rooms. Not the cleanliness, but the "wear and tear" (carpets, bedding, paint, etc.) Especially BCV, which is kind of surprising since it is rather new as well. I was hoping to stay at BCV, due to it's great location and pool, but hate to spend so much money on a room in poor condition. What do you think? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Do they base that on the "shabby chic" decor? I think ALL DVC rooms are in pretty good condition. That is especially true when you consider how much use they get!

We have stayed at SSR and OKW, both 2 bedrooms. I thought both were great. I had no complaints about OKW at all and that is the oldest resort. As far as being clean I think all mousekeepers have an off day and don't do a great job. But I thought both places were great!!!! Will be staying at VWL this year and hope all goes well!!!!

We stayed at the BCV in August. They were replacing the furniture in many rooms on the 5th floor (where we were). I would assume they were also replacing some on the other floors. They replaced our nightstand while we were there. The only thing I could see wrong with it was there was a water stain, and it was under the clock radio.

I think it's all a matter of perspective. Since we are DVC members, I try to appreciate what we are getting for our money, which I personally feel is a great deal. It's likely that many of the reviews you are reading are from people who paid cash (ouch!) for DVC accomodations and were expecting a butler and maid to be present at all times.

I try to be open minded and not complain, but we have stayed at WLV, HHI and BWV this year and they all needed some updating. (carpets, walls, sofas) They all have much wear and tear!!! Compared to the Marriott Vacation Club, I feel MVC does a much better job maintaining their properties. I do love my DVC membership and wouldn't give it up. :firefight Don't burn me, I don't want a fight, just stating my experience. Again, I LOVE DVC, just posting an opinion.

I think any resort that has high occupancy rates are going to have wear and tear on the rooms. My sister-in-law told me when they stayed at Marriott Grande Vista last September, their 1st week's room looked brand new. The 2nd week unit was needing an update (stains on the couch, rugs, etc.). Not horrible, but definitely used quite a bit. Probably ready for a refurbishing.

I take trip advisor reports with a grain of salt. I wonder if some reporting on there is just bogus. I put more stock in reports on tug (where someone is usually a member of the forum and posts a report).

Stayed in a studio at BCV last year and the mattress had springs sticking me so much that I couldn't get comfortable. I called housekeeping and they immediately brought a new mattress. Sometimes I think that if we don't report problems, how does anyone know they exist.
