SB and I worked a charity event last night at Dick's Sporting Goods. For a donation, people could get autographs from the Pirates, and then the money raised is going to buy baseball gloves for kids who can't afford them. It was a fun night. It was sweet to see the young kids so much in awe of meeting their favorite players.

Knowing that I wasn't going to be home until later, I was trying to be proactive and set my VCR to tape the Amazing Race. When I went to watch the tape after I got home, I realized I taped the wrong night!!! I was not a happy camper. I will have to find a recap somewhere.

Leah is having a few friends sleep over tonight for her birthday, and we are going to the drive in to see the Rugrats movie. It turns out that SB's SIL is taking SB's two kids to the same place, so Leah will get to spend some time with her cousins tonight too!

Was a tired camper this morning. Couldn't fall asleep when I got home last night.

Diane - nice to see you are back w/ us!!

Gail - the Chatty Cathy award!! Wow, that's one to tell the kids about!!

Going out w/ my DH to a Pirate game tonight - unless it RAINS!!! Meeting up w/ one of my sorority sisters and her soon to be husband. We'll have a fun night either way. Hopefully my kids will behave with my SIL at the drive-in. At least Auntie Laura should be able to keep an eye on them. (see LK's post).

So just in case anyone missed it on the RMT thread this morning;

"I received my surprise riddle bud box yesterday!

It had a lime green Mickey ears from Home Depot on the outside, so I knew what it was right away!

It was from the organizer herself, CAROL!!!!

First I read the great letter about the contents which also had a wonderful picture of her family. Carol wasn’t in it, just her two young daughters & her two men!

Then I gave my Emily her LG glass & more Mickey stickers (paint samples from HD)! She loved them!

I got a bunch of LG (Lime Green) accessories like a 6 pack cooler with 2 martini glasses with Margarita mix!

Also a YK candle holder (LG) with a Summer Scent LG candle in it!

Then a LG shells & fishys ice cube tray
A Mickey airplane (a certain DISer reminded asked me if it was big enough to take all of us to WDW)! I wish I’d thought of that LOL

And a LG squirt gun.

BUTT last BUTT not least, a candy bar! IF you go to RMC, you will hopefully see the picture on the wrapper! It made me really CRACK up! A really nice touch Carol!

Carol, the bumps on the bar were just very pronounced 'segments' like in most chocolate bars!

I thought for sure they were little moon cracks

Wow, what a great box of goodies, John. A fitting candy bar! Great stuff for summer, margaritas and martinis, after the mix is done!


Stephanie, I would love to see that show, unfortunately DH will not go to outdoor concerts here during summer, which we all know starts in April and last till November, and of course they will play outside. I just have to listen to the CD.

There are brave women here, drive in movies and kids. I'll hold the babies, but that's the extend of my nurturing abilities now.

Have a fun day every one. I think I will go shower and hmmmm, well, I have one errand to run for the business and that's it for today. Life is tough!

Hello angels,

A dear friend passed away due to cancer this week. He was in his 50's.

My wife had known him for years and they worked in the same building a few years back. He and his wife became the Montgomery grandparents to our girls since our own families are 3 hours away.

We will go to the wake tonight and the funeral tomorrow.

Happier activities will include a pool party with friends tomorrow night, a child's birthday party to attend Sunday afternoon, shopping for tile for the new house....

It's going to be a busy weekend.
