11 More Days. Looking forward to some R&R.

Welcome Back Gina!

And a Welcome Back to you too Gail!

I have a big group ride this morning, but it's looking a little gloomy for today. I'm off to check the weather reports.

Welcome home Gail! Hope your trip was fun and not too rainy.

Melissa, I am about 1/3 of the way through HP 5. I am sure that the 17 hour drive to WDW next weekend will give me plenty of time to finish it.

The Bunco party was a blast. We had a great group of people here. After we finished playing, everyone stayed until about 11 or so. The kids didn't want to leave!

Lenny has softball playoffs again this morning, and the kids are going to the cottage with my IL's for a few days. I should have lots of quiet time to get my work done for the payroll this week.

Sandi, I hope you get your ride in. It doesn't look too bad here right now, but I haven't seen the forecast yet.

Welcome home, Gail!

Hope your vacation was fun and not too rain filled. The east coast has been under such a blanket of gloom....yeeech!

It was such a blast meeting you! I hope we can do it again soon!

Sandi....hope to meet up with you soon!

LK.....glad your party turned out so successful! Sounds like a ton of fun!

I'm just moseying along here. First day back in the DIS saddle.

Welcome Home Wayward Angels!!!
Gail & Gina!!! :D
We missed you!!! It was kinda quiet around here last week.

Have a great time Steph!!!:earsgirl:

LK-Glad the Bunco party was a success & that a good time was had by all:D

Sandi, I've never seen that movie. I may have to check it out.

CS, congrats on 4000 posts.

Glad you had fun at the fair, E.

Stephanie, have a great time at the world. Guess you are gone by now. Just wanted to say that we'll miss you.

Diane, glad the dog grooming went well. Take it slow and easy.

Lars, I have a Camry and abosolutely love it! I think your DH will be happy with it.

LK, the bunco party sounds fun. Glad everyone had a great time.

Hi Gina. Good to see you back. We missed you.

Hi Gail. We missed you, too. Glad to see you again.

We took MIL out to dinner last night. It was her 70th birthday. She was a little depressed. They don't get out much. FIL is a stroke victim and it's easier to stay home. She had a great time and the food was very good. I think we had her cheered up by the time we left.

This morning we are skipping out on church and going to the zoo. Actually, we are going to church tonight at the cathedral, since they are having a special service for kids who attended church camp. They sing camp songs and it's like a reunion. They also invited us to a cookout following the service.

Anyway, I'll be away most of the day. I'll check in when I'm back home. Have a great Sunday!

Good morning all :)

Welcome home Gail!!! Missed ya around here! Glad you and Gina had a good time together!

Melissa, it has been quiet, but then again the DIS always seems to get more quiet in the summer time when people are away and busy. Come fall, things here will perk up I am sure.
Sounds like you are doing better though. I hope that continues!!!

Sandi, I hope you can get your biking in today. We have some gloomy weather here off and on today.

LK, glad that the party went so well for you all!

For some reason Gina, this made me chuckle... seems so fitting to say after being away for any length of time :teeth:

Morning Lars :) I hope you enjoy your day!

:D

Morning Angels!

Welcome Back Gail and Gina! Great to have you DISing again!

Gaspode - that restaurant sounds cool. We have a restaurant downtown called the Olive Twist. Doesn't have a parrot though.

Lars - was wondering where you were. I had a Toyota for my first car, and nothing ever was wrong w/ it.

Had a great time at LK's last night. Skipped dinner at home so I could eat lots. Didn't do too well at the game though. We didn't get home until 11:45 and both kids fell asleep in the car.

Sandi - hope you got your ride in, it looks like it is going to get ugly later on.

Just a quick good morning.....still getting organized around here. I hope to have some pictures to share later today. We really lucked out with mostly dry, nice weather all week except on days we were traveling. Sounds like much better than here on the East coast.

One quick trip story. On Tuesday we were leaving a restaurant in Lancaster, PA after lunch and the kids thought we were heading home then next day. We had managed to keep the final part of the trip a secret until then. It was starting to drizzle and Matt spotted a mini-golf course. He's been wanting to play all summer and was talking about going to a course near home on Thurs or Friday. That's when we told him he could play on a course he loved in Canada and he thought we meant on another vacation. Neither kid could believe we were heading there the next day!!! It was a great surprise. :teeth:

Just back from my ride and the sun is shining!(Not sure for how long though!)
It was a real city ride! From Squirrel Hill to Oakland to South side to town, thru the strip district, Shadyside, and back to Frick Park in Squirrel Hill. We had to go over 2 bridges!

Have a great day!

Welcome home Gail! Sounds like a great surprise for the kids.

LK, I meant to ask how Len's play off game last Sunday went. I assume he won if they are still playing. I wondered if it was worth the early trip home.

We went to real church today (Not St. Perkins). The younger kids have a summer music camp and present a musical at the Sunday worship. Always very well done. I feel a little sad that my 2 are too old to do it now.

Another gray and humid day here. Band camp starts tomorrow and DD is SOOOO excited about it. She wants to get there extra early to talk to the director and be there before the rest of the students. As DS will be riding with her, he is starting to wish the other girl got drum major. LOL

Lorraine I am glad that you had fun at the party too last night.

Gail what a cute story!!! I think that is great you had them so surprised!

Sandi, I am glad that the sun is shining and you were able to get your ride in. Do you like going over bridges while biking?

Well I need to find lunch. See you all later :)

Carol, Lenny's team won last week, but lost this morning. Good thing because if they won today, the final game would be next Sunday, and we will be at WDW! Andrew had better pay attention to the DM or she might make him march an extra mile or so!;)

Sandi, that sounds like an awesome ride this morning. You really cover a lot of ground! Glad the rains held off for you.

NO! Even though it's a beautiful view, the fear of heights starts kicking in.

Everbody cross your fingers today. DS found another house and put a bid in on it!!!! SB and LK, it's in Aspinwall, which is right next door to Waterworks Plaza. Are you at all familiar with the area?

It's raining now, good time for a nap.

Sandi, my fingers are crossed for your DS. Hope he gets this one.

The zoo was great. They have opened a new interactive bird exhibit. You can buy nectar and feel the lorakeets. They land on your arms and head. One pooped down the front of my shirt! DH was snapping photos. I'll see how horrible it looks before I decide if I am sharing it. ;)

We are all cleaned up and off to church. I'll check in tonight after the cookout.

LOL! I always love those "pooped on by birds" stories! We have had some funny ones. A couple years ago, a friend of ours got "spotted" by a bird while walking into MGM. We had to go imediately to the restroom and wash her hair out!

Oh boy, I spend a day working on stuff on my computer and I come back to bird poop stories :teeth:

LK, sorry that they didn't win the game, but at the same time I am glad that they didn't (for the WDW trip that is)

Sandi, I am scared of heights too (I think I've told you that) so I can understand why you don't like bridges. For me I think it would have to depend on the bridge.

Sandi, good luck to your DS on this house. I've eaten at the Aspinwall Grill a few times for lunch. Good hamburgers!

Melissa, when we were in San Diego last year, the kids got to feed the lorakeets at the zoo. They are so colorful, so the pictures we got were pretty amazing. Luckily, no poop on us!

It is very quiet here without the kids. They will be back on Wednesday or Thursday. It's funny, when they are here and fighting, they drive me nuts, but now that they are gone, I really miss them.
