Hi everyone! We had a nice day yesterday, until the rains came.:( We were going to go downtown and watch the fireworks, but we gave up on that. We just stayed at home, and then parked on a local street to watch the fireworks in Cranberry.

Marsha, I hope you are feeling better soon!

Carol, are you sure you don't want to head to your library and open your packages from there?? :o ;) :p

Gina, good luck to Matt with his swimming!

Good luck to Duffy, too!

Steph, DS and DH will be heading off to Cub Scout camp, too, tomorrow. They need to get moving on their packing today.

I started reading Harry Potter yesterday. I wonder how long it will take me?

...but the name of the caterer's is the Brownstone, located in Paterson, NJ. ALL of their food is wonderful, ESPECIALLY thier dessert menu! I'll have to research it.....

Hi Guys!!!!
Not much going one here. Did the picnic/fireworks thing yesterday...had fun! Out too late though!
Nothing major planned for today...I should be around!
Carol-I hope that new computer comes fast!

Happy Saturday all !!

Hope you continue to enjoy the weekend !!

Feel better soon Marsha !

Carol -hope you get those 'puter troubles fixed once and for all:)
But vacation in less than a week away - so you've gotta be smiling about that :p :p

I went to the fireworks in town last night ..... good show - lots of big booms !!! Nothing major going on today .... may take a ride somewhere ... destination unknown as of yet ! Supposed to be another triple H day here ....

Talk to ya later !

I am still here, but only for minutes at a tome, then the computer crashes. DH ordered a new Dell.

Thanks for all the phone numbers. Now I know I won't have to have complete withdrawal. And thanks Gina, for the call.

CS, hope you and DBF had a good time. Where did you go?

I just discovered 5 pieces of bubble gum in the dryer.

Luckily, they weren't in there long enough to cause major damage. I am now getting the blank stare when I ask everyone about it. I need the angels to don their uniforms and help me kick some butt...

:D
Afternoon All!

LK - hubby always leaves gum in his pockets. I didn't catch some the other week, and it got all over 2 pairs of Brendan's shorts, Joe's jacket and the whole inside of the dryer!! He said I should be checking everything before I throw it in - to which I replied, it is NOT my job to be going through everything.

Steph - we are huge Jr. fans in this house. My DH was so upset when Sr. died. He was always fun to watch.

Carol - good choice w/ the Dell. Hope you are up and running soon!

Diane - hope the show went well today.

Marsha - normally seeing the doctor is a pain in itself, but I hope they find something they can fix.

Kimmar - desserts! The caterer wouldn't even have to deal w/ the main meal w/ me!

Gail - have a great time today!

Satine - Taco Bell or homemade tacos?

Hey SB....you guys need to come to Loudon for a race!!!! I can use all the "extra" Jr. fans in my corner!! The rest of the crowd follows that "other beer" guy

What should I make for a snack to take to the race party tonight???

my DM just called, and said she'd keep the kids over night...wooohooo....good thing there is more laundry to do!

Steph - where is Loudon? I would suggest a taco dip - mix a dry taco mix w/ cream cheese, spread on bottom and layer shredded cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and whatever else you want. Yummy!

Satine - local fireworks or REAL fireworks!;)

SB: You call yourself a FAN???? ;) j/k Loudon is home to NH International Speedway, host to TWO NWC races!! Just a short little trip for you PA folks!!!
Stop by on your way, we'll show you the back way in!!

I usually do the layer dip thing, except use refried beans on the bottom....I'm thinking i may make chicken & garlic nachos tonight....

cept it's too damn hot to eat.....so I was thinking of something "cold"

Steph, I am not into racing, but can I stop by and hang out anyway?? I'll root for whoever you tell me to root for.

Mmmm....taco dip........here's my recipe ......went over well at a picnic last week .....

16 oz. sour cream
Hidden Valley ranch Party Dip mix
2 or 3 tomatoes
2 or 3 green peppers (I use red too)
1 chopped onion
8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
8 oz. shredded monterey jack cheese
black or green olives - (I opt out - not an olive fan !)

Serve w/ tortilla chips ...... now I'm hungry ....but I know what you mean Steph about it being too hot to eat !

My Layered taco dip:
bottom layer: bean dip or refried beans
then a layer of sour cream mixed with dry taco meat mix
then a layer of salsa
then a layer of cheese
then tomatoes & sliced black olives

serve w/chips!

I do a layered Mexican dip which you may like! Serve it in a clear glass bowl....it looks very pretty!

bottom....chopped lettuce and tomato

next layer....sour cream

next layer....chopped black and green olives

next layer....guacamole

next layer....sour cream (keeps the guac from discoloring)

next layer.....shredded cheese

next layer (to be added right before serving).....salsa

Refrigerate before serving....

Serve with chips and beer!
