The bus is cheap and easy to get you around the island. It even comes to the port (a nice port). They offer a pack of bus tickets that can be shared. There’s a transportation office at the port.
(The Bermuda dollar is = to the US$. It doesn‘t vary. And you can use US currency). Buses don’t give change.
There is a ferry from the port (Royal Naval Dockyard) to Hamilton (the capital).
The beaches are lovely. Horseshoe is the most famous. There is a $7 pp shuttle from the port and drops you off at the beach (not at the top of the hill, where the bus would. (Cruise transfer is >$30 pp).
There us the zoo and aquarium, Crystal / Fantasy Caves (might need to make reservations online).
Mini-golf and national museum right at the port.
Go to the far end of the island - St George - for a bit of history. It’s the original capital and one of original settlements by the English in this hemisphere. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, being of significance to development of civilization.
We happened to be there at noon, when they demonstrated the dunking stool. It all reminded me of going to Williamsburg as a child. Begin those history experiences young

. While there, there is Tobacco Bay for swimming and snorkeling.
You could hire a taxi tour to show you the island. They typically have a 4-hour minimum at ~$50/hour for the entire group (not pp).
Looks like the ferry from the port to St George’s is running this summer: (It was closed for a while to repair the dock). Otherwise, it’s a long bus ride. Plus, it’s a boat ride.
