Hello again, I was looking at a post about coolers. My question is this, I see lots of people brining there own soda on board. Can you tell me what beverages are included in your price and what is not, along with food also. I know fancy drinks are not coverd I mean basic coffee, tea, water, soda, milk ,juice....and what foods are extra? Thanks again. (sick of me yet...LOL) Also I am guessing you are allowed to bring soda, I will not get kicked off the ship if cought smuggling soda on?

This should answer your questions:

From the Disney Cruise Line website:

As far as what you can bring on, Disney doesn't really care. Soft drinks, powder mixes, wine, beer, hard liquor...

I am correct in that soda is $1 if purchased at the bars, buffets and room service? Is it can or fountain?

I had read somewhere that they were $1 and that you would have to have 35 sodas on the 7 day cruise to break even with the mug deal.

Can anyone who has cruised recently let us know?

A soft drink runs about $2.00. I think the exact price is $1.97 or something to that effect. They are not $1.00.

The soda is not cans, it is fountain. I found the beverage mug to be worth the $35, but others disagree. Depends on how much soda you drink.

Hi, if you book thru AAA, the soda mugs are free for everyone in your party! we did this at new years and again on 8/2/03 western. i normally wouldn't spend that for each one to have a mug, but when they are free, we used them! It is especially nice at the evening shows and on castaway cay. barb

Can you bring a mug you used on your last cruise on again and use that one? Then it would be worth buying it!! Joni :bounce: :Pinkbounc

No. Disney specifically states that the mugs are good for the length of the cruise on which they were purchased.

They often change the design/look of the mug in order to help dissuade this very thing.

Beware - the mugs are smaller than they look. If you put ice in your drink you are getting less than a can of soda. On the other hand, it's a nice souvenir that I do use at home. Keeps stuff cold. We bought one for DH and I to share on the 3-day cruise.

Do you have to use the mug or do they also put a sticker or something on your KTTW card?

Happy Cruising!

Lori

I was wondering the same as Lori, I have 3 small ones and to carry five mugs, and you know i will be the one stuck carring them, I would love to see them place a sticker or something so you can get the free sodas when you are walking about

This is not an easy question to answer for several different reasons. First, it appears that the Wonder and the Magic do things slightly different in some areas and the mugs fall into this category. Second, it appears that the AAA mugs are handled differently from the purchased mugs. Finally, past cruisers report many different things concerning the mugs.

Here is an attempt at an answer. From my experience on the Magic, if you purchase a mug you'll receive a sticker for your KTTW card. This means you would not have to carry the mug around. If you use the AAA mug, you won't get a sticker.

This is from my personal experience and, as I mentioned, it seems others have experienced other things.

Thanks Three Circles.

I purchased the soda package on "another" cruise line and it worked out well with the sticker. I don't drink coffee in the morning so I definately need my diet coke!

I think the sticker Idea is a good one, then there wouldn't be a question to who bought a mug and who didn't. Joni :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We traveled June 28th Magic. We booked through AAA and received the free soda mugs. We got the mugs and never unwrapped them, because they put a sticker on our card. One person can get more than one drink at a time. There were many times my DH would grab a couple of diet cokes and bring them back to the room. Like the other posts, this was our experience, it seems to change all the time.
