Bendy & Her Friendies V2 ... This Bar Never Closes! New Thread Started!

I came back from Vegas late afternoon, so now I'm catching up.

And for those who don't have me on Facebook, I enjoyed my food, my booze, and getting a surprise over my shoulder at Table 10. Emeril came out to greet friends of his dining at a table kitty-corner behind us. I really wanted to snap a photo, but my upbringing just wouldn't allow me to intrude upon his privacy!

And I posted in Chelsi's food report that I said "Suck it, Disney!" after having foie gras in Vegas. At least they don't ban it there. I have plenty of food porn. I think we need another thread just for that. ;)

What fun at table 10! Who knows, maybe Emeril himself prepared your meal. :cool1: That's one of those places that isn't talked about as much, and I don't know why. The food is delicious, isn't it? Even the roll and butter are wonderful. I love the service there, too. Quiet, understated, but fantastic. :thumbsup2

um, I don't have either of you :rolleyes1

if anyone would like to FB me, just send me a pm :goodvibes

It is a PITA sometimes, ok most of the time but the kids are cute. I feel bad for my sister who has to deal with it everyday.

A weekend alone sounds good, but I can't imagine not cooking for an army for the holiday. Even before we had kids, I'd have Jon bring home some of the single sailors from the ship that didn't have family nearby.

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself. I always cook for an army as well. Dh and the kids haven't seen his parents in about 18 months and with it being the holidays, I didn't want to spend the extra $$$$ on my plane ticket.

I am kind of excited!! Wrapping Christmas presents, watching old Christmas movies, and drinking wine.:yay:

I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep up!

Jamie, I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip.

Elin, I'm deeply sorry. You and your friend's family will be in my prayers.:flower3:

That's nice that your hubby & kids can go visit :goodvibes Maybe you can make things that they wouldn't have wanted and you can have your very own special Thanksgiving and then watch Christmas movies & drink wine :thumbsup2

Wine and cheese. No cooking required.:thumbsup2:lmao:

I'm sorry you don't get to go, too. Don't spend all that saved money on wine! :rotfl2:

I don't have anybody here on Facebook either. You guys can PM me if you want to be my friend ( I hear Mr. Rogers singing "won't you be my neighbor?" for some reason.)

Anyone have their holiday menu(s) planned yet?

Fortunately, since all of my husband's family is here in town, we do a potluck dinner...my MIL usually does 2 turkeys (1 roasted and 1 deep fried) and the stuffing, mashed potatoes and a couple of pies, and then the daughter-in- laws bring all the other sides and more desserts. I usually bring green bean casserole...hokey, I know, but everyone loves it, and it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without it!

Robin: Disney Store, circa 1995. They put the menorah in a "home for the holidays" Christmas box. Go figure. I haven't seen anything like it since.

I don't remember all the comments about disaster movies, but I would want to see it. I liked "Independence Day" and "Day After Tomorrow". So maybe I'd enjoy this, too.

Elin: I'm sorry about your friend's loss.

Welcome home Lori! Glad to hear you had a great trip and a fun birthday surprise to boot!

Like my new ticker? It says "let's eat" but the castle covers it up for now. I thought it was very appropriate!

I went ahead and made our adr's even though I haven't made a hotel reservation yet. Hopefully it's a sign because I had no trouble getting anything at all even though we're well past the 180 day mark.

CRT breakfast on Olivia's birthday
Le Cellier lunch
Chef Mickey's breakfast
Kona dinner
(Beaches and Cream)
Rose and Crown dinner
Boma dinner
and another day that I've left free. Yes, I decided that we need 9 nights!!!!
DH isn't aware of that yet--he's going to give birth to a brick...

Love your ticker-what fun! Your plans sound like this will be a great birthday trip. And 9 days-that will be an extra special treat. :cool1:

Just made the first batch of pre-holiday fudge tonight! Chocolate with pecans on half.

Been sorting out some Vegas food photos and I don't ever want food again.

We hit a lot of restaurants.
Cabo Wabo Cantina
Koi
Society Cafe
Carnevino
Table 10
L'Atelier
Red Square
Stripsteak
Spago
Bradley Ogden
Mesa Grill
Beijing Noodle No. 9

Some of those were just for drinks or appetizers though.

I posted a new update ... our culinary demo with the chef from Raglan Road. It was amazing!

Welcome Home Catherine! I see Red Sqaure on your list ... did you enjoy it?

Welcome Home! :goodvibes Glad you had such an enjoyable trip ... I'm looking forward to seeing and reading all about the delectables you had. :thumbsup2

2012 was a hoot but a tad bit too long. If you liked the other two movies you mentioned (as did we) then you should like this one just fine, too.

I went to see 2012 today. It was sure full of special effects! That's an understatement! :rotfl2: I was laughing at all the cheesy parts. Woody Harrelson did not disappoint, and George Segal gets the Helen Hayes award for the aged has-been actor who has to be cast in a disaster film. ;)

The service there was fantastic. I had to give one of them a hug for finding the credit card I dropped on the floor, which I thought I had somehow left at the Revolution bar at the Mirage. The most surprising dish was the appetizer. Unassuming hush puppies made with jalapeno and corn, came with an incredible tomato and currant chutney. Thumbs way up.

Thanks, I was happy to have my arm twisted ever-so-slightly by Catherine. She didn't have to turn it much. The only downside to my trip was bashing my right knee tripping on a step up to see Cirque Love. I am still sore from it, but I don't know if it needs any doctor visits. I came down hard because I was carrying a purchased martini glass in a box (inside a bag) in one hand, and a big honkin' 32 oz. diet Coke in the other hand. I missed a step up and sent half my diet Coke up on me and the steps. I took some Advil and managed to enjoy the show.

So you did go to the noodle place for lunch. :) I know we OD'd on food. My scale proved that.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Yeah, you could say we enjoyed it. I was pretty much inebriated before AND after dinner because of this place.

'Splain.

Grr I already edited and my post didn't take.
I thought you were carrying a martini in a box in a glass...yeah. Oy.

I like that visual ... it's very Vegas. :lmao:

Yeah, I was tired. I was thinking it was a great idea and how in the world did they invent a box that would allow you to purchase your martini and then carry it around to the venue of your choice?:thumbsup2

We're going to a French Wine Dinner tomorrow night with some friends. Friday is going to be a verrrry long day but it will be worth it. :rotfl2:

When I bought a specialty drink at the Revolution bar at the Mirage, they had a special martini glass in a box that you got with purchase. I had it in a bag from the Cirque Love store to carry around, but even that didn't stop me from stumbling over my own feet. :(

But in other news...

While I was in Vegas, I got a phone call that a bottle of Sam Adams Utopias was available if I still wanted to buy it from my local wine store. Hell yeah!

I'm now the proud owner of a bottle of Utopias.
