The birthday party was lots of fun. Tasty cake, cheese and plenty o booze. I have half the cheese and two half-bottles of wine in the fridge and if we don't eat and drink it all (gonna pour a bit now - hair of the dog) it will be passed to Brenda and Jason, because a wine is a terrible thing to waste. Met a lot of those I only knew online and I like putting the faces to the screennames. (How's y'all and them?)

I put on my own trip report that I have never seen Epcot so crowded as it was yesterday. There were unbelievable hordes of people - all standing in line patiently for food and drink.

Glad to hear the party was a success, and that a good time was had by all!

Yes, TigerKat was there with her teeth mostly intact. She's doing well after emergency dental action.

Lori's right, it's cold here and I don't like it personally. I'm about to hit Epcot and get some food out of the way early. She went to breakfast with one of her online friends at Captain's Grill which I remember has a pretty good buffet. Tonight we have V&A for which I brought a little summery dress. :cold:

Poor Kathy! What a way to start your vacation!

oh, don't worry. They have cashmere wraps, remember?

And not only are they 100% cashmere, as I recall, they were also sumptuous, saturnine and maleficent!:lmao:

That is just crazy. But thats what happens in Florida when it gets a little cool out. We Floridians tend to venture out. Maybe a little warm weather will clear them out by the time we get there. No Saturdays for F&W for us.
Hi friendies, did someone say it was crowded at Epcot on Saturday?????
Walking from American pavilion toward Japan. I just put my camera in the air above my head and took this shot:

Beautiful weather though so everyone was out and about. Lines were very, very long so you really couldn't eat and drink that much. Unfortunately they don't have fast passes for the kiosks. :lmao:

It was a chilly day here in NC, but my wonderful husband made LeCellier Cheddar Cheese soup and pretzel bread for dinner :cloud9: It was so yummy and no ADR's or F&W kiosk lines to deal with

Hope everyone had a great day :goodvibes

Here - I'm listening to Disradio... click on the open in new window (windows) and you'll get music from the parks...

Yikes - I got a runtime error when I tried to open the "play" window and all the IE shut down. I'll try with Firefox later.

Check THIS out!!!!

What a perfect cake for Bendy! It's too adorable. I worked this weekend (in the entertainment biz - we always work when everyone else is off - which makes sense) and am so sorry I missed the online party.
Bendy - you picked the best place to celebrate the transition into your 40s because Disney reminds us, that no matter what our age, to celebrate the child within. We still feel the anticipation and excitement the way we did as kids, and we appreciate and enjoy the creativity that surrounds us in the parks and resorts. Bendy, as long as you love the magic of Disney you'll always be a kid at heart. Plus you look terrific!

Really looking forward to the TR and thanks for the updates. It looks like Orlando will warm up again by mid-week but I think the cooler weather is much better for food sampling. When it's baking heat, a lot of stuff isn't very appetizing.

WOW!! I think the last time I saw Disney that crowded was on Easter Day at the parade in MK. Note to self - going at the beginning of the Festival is a good plan! That kind of crowded is not fun for me anymore and it's why I won't go in the summer anymore.

WOW those crowds are nuts!
Of course, I've since heard that Disneyland was closed for entrance at least one of the days we were there, and I believe it.

I just don't think there's a slow time anymore. :headache:

I hope everyone is having a great time! Is anyone going to Jellyrolls?

I am back, just got in earlier tonight, and I'm pretty much caught up here.

I was enjoying myself too much at Brenda's party to keep up with doing more than a pic of the cake and birthday girl. Add to that that I feel uncomfortable posting pics on Facebook of people I just met, I decided it was best to post pics of people who have pics posted here.

I felt bad that Kathy had to have a root canal on her first day, but she was a trooper and showed up to party! That's true dedication. (And I loved the regional dialect discussion. ;) ) I heard it as: "How's y'allanim?" :thumbsup2

And yes, Saturday had scary crowds. Crowds that I didn't expect to see, but the less oppressive temps brought them all out in droves. And as Catherine said, they waited patiently in perfect Disney queues.

I had a great time, and I already miss those who are still there. And I had a wonderful time meeting people I could place names to faces.

Good to hear you are safely home... how's the hangover? (Bendy's I mean...:rotfl:)

Welcome back, Lori. I cannot believe it is time for our friendies to be coming back!

Got back last night. Had a great time at Bendy's party. The cake was so cool and tasted really good.

It was so much fun meeting everyone and putting faces to the people I've been chatting with.

I'm glad I missed the crowds at EPCOT, they didn't seem to bad on Friday afternoon and yesterday at lunch time we just walked right up to all the booths we stopped at.

Ok... who ordered this sore throat????

I give... I go to ONE reunion and I get sick... :headache:

So... for all of your friendies who have just returned... COME ON PEOPLE... WE NEED PICTURES!!!

Yay, so glad you all came back safely   Lori, I'll follow your links to the TR and am SO looking forward to hearing how it all went. Did anyone come back with recipes from the Culinary demos?

Hey friendies!! After a rough start it's turning out to be an amazing vacation!! Getting together with all the friendies was so much fun, finally putting faces to names helps!!!

We were talking to Bendy & Jay yesterday about the crowds they faced at MK and were SHOCKED when today at 2:30 pm the longest wait we saw was 15 minutes! We walked onto everything!

We're moving to Portofino Bay tomorrow, looking forward to that!

I'm so happy that Bendy invited us to her party because I would have never met so many amazing friends!

Glad to hear that everyone is having a wonderful time and those who are back arrived safely! It's so weird having us all scattered about!

We finalized plans (finally) for our trip tonight. My aunt is not going, so our dates are now Dec.16-23 (so dd only misses 2 days of school). And get this, we have decided not to stay onsite. :scared1: Why? Well, in poking around looking at after Christmas dates, I also looked at our current dates on lastminutetravel and got the Hilton Downtown Disney for $62 a night! The more we thought about it, the more we liked the idea of being across from DTD and how our plans are going to be to take a rest each day; also the fact of being in an inside corridor hotel. We still get emh at the Hilton, and we hadn't planned on using the buses with my mom, anyway. Very exciing!

Except now I have a boatload of stuff to cancel and change tomorrow. Oh, yeah, and MVMCP tickets to purchase!
