Well, my baby was off to third grade today. Not in class with her best friend, but there are several girls she knows well, so I think it will be a good year. No tears, just smiles and a hug for me when I left her in her classroom! Where did summer go???:beach:

Hope she's enjoying being a third grader. Love the new photo of you all-so sweet!

I am coming home tomorrow late afternoon/early evening. I might make it back in time for our tasting since we are on BendyTime, aka Central Time. ;)

Have good Fridays, everyone!

I'm way behind the times, what did we decide about this? I will be back Sun in the late afternoon. I would love to have a wine chat!

Morning all! Just checking in quickly....I'll be AWOL until our wine party tomorrow night. I'm hosting a baby shower tomorrow so tonight will be all about cleaning and cooking! Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Have a fun shower!

Happy Friday to Y'all!!

I'm heading out for lunch & a movie with my DD today. Going to see "Julie & Julia".

DH surprised me with an unusual reservation for Sunday night. Dinner at Emeril's for Indian Food! Apparently all of Emeril's local rests are doing summer promos of Cuisines of the World. Here's the menu:

Available August 1 - 31, as part of our summer-long event,
Cuisines of the World
Indian
1st Course
(Choice of One)
Onion-Sweet Potato Bhaji, Fresh Coriander-Crab Relish
Tandoori Spiced Gulf Shrimp, Watermelon Curry
Masala Dosa, Louisiana Crawfish, Tomato-Peach Chutney
2nd Course
(Choice of One)
Butter Chicken, House Made Naan, Hot Lime
Pickle, Basmati
Lobster Vindaloo, Savoy Cabbage, Mango-Apple Slaw
Lamb Curry, Papadum, House Made Yogurt Raita
Dessert
(Choice of One)
Black Rice Pudding, Apricot Chutney, Spiced
Vanilla Ice Cream
Mango Lassi, Deep Fried Bananas

Should be interesting!

Let us know what you think of the movie, it sounds great! That menu--wow!! I'm hungry reading it.

Well, Bendies. It's here. I'm 50 years old today. Older, but not any wiser, I guarantee that. Hubby gave me a dozen pink roses today, they are my very favorite. :flower3:
It's been a challenging year...and I decided to make some changes. Since last Oct I lost 48 pounds. When you go from an 18W to a 12P it's a big adjustment, mentally and physically.

We're going away for a night to celebrate, should be fun! I have a bottle of Chandon Blanc de Noirs chilling--It's not only delicious but it's also pretty in the flute.

The countdown to Food and Wine continues!!! I'm getting more excited by the day. :yay:

Hope all the Friendies have a great weekend!!

Ok, this is where I need everybody's input, should I just do the Disneyland report (2 days), or do a whole trip report and figure out where to put it on the California boards? There are more food pictures if I do the whole thing. You guys have to promise to read and comment because I've never done a TR before! :teeth:

Thanks about the avatar!

And congrats on the weight loss to you and Tiger Kat both! You must not be bellying up to the bar as much as the rest of us! :lmao:

Shovan, the Indian food sounds delicious! We are going for German tomorrow night at a new place in town. A first for us as a trial run for Biergarten in December.

Thank you!! I have to admit, it's actually easier to BE 50 than it was to anticipate turning 50. Sounds nuts, probably...but it's true.

Hi all,

I have to chime in on this one. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY!!!! That's fantastic about your weight loss, congratulations.

I turned 50 on July 28th and was having a really hard time with it. I just don't feel like 50?? Does anyone know what I mean??

My husband keeps asking "Well, what is 50 supposed to feel like?"

I keep alot of things like this to myself, but I feel I could let it out here. I guess I will always be a kid at heart.

Reading all your replys really helps!!

Congrats on turning 50 too. :goodvibes

It's not really that bad, I'm 51 now and still kicking. ;)

Ok... everyone pray for nice weather on the 17th... I turn 45 and I'm not happy about it...

So... I'm thinking of hauling my big fat A$$ up to Saratoga and betting at LEAST $2 on a horse.... then I might hunt down a Saratoga Sunrise just cause I NEED to drag home yet ANOTHER souvineer glass... then I might join in with the track workers and collect cans out of the garbage so I have enough money to come back on my 46th birthday and do it all again... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Congrats on turning 50 too. :goodvibes
