I wonder if there's hope for Jay and me then ... ours expired in April and won't be redone until October as well.

Ours expired in December, so there is hope!
I will say, with the new 15 month renewal thing, we might opt to renew rather than get new ones. I have to sit down and figure out how it will best "serve" us with the new rules.

 Oh Elin, that's too bad. I hope you're still able to enjoy your weekend.

Oh, I will! :rotfl2:

Well, my baby was off to third grade today. Not in class with her best friend, but there are several girls she knows well, so I think it will be a good year. No tears, just smiles and a hug for me when I left her in her classroom! Where did summer go???:beach:

Yeah... can you imagine if I went skinnydipping???

& it's such a nice little looking jail... they even have lawn chairs outside...

That is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Makes you want to do something slightly illegal just to get to spend an hour or two there!

Random ramblings...

I got my F&W booklet in the mail last night. I didn't think I would get one this year since our APs and TIW have both expired and won't get redone until we get there in October.

This weekend I am going to PA for MagicMeets2009. I have never been to one of these meets but know many of the people who are presenting it and lots of the attendees. Bob was supposed to go with me. He has "chosen" to do something else instead. This is one of the reasons staying married for 36 years is so hard, friends. My feelings are hurt and I am angry, to boot. He doesn't "get" the hurt part, only sees the "mad" (that, I think, is a man thing). He neglected to take into account that we had prepaid the tickets. That money is non-refundable. Additionally he broke his promise to attend with me to keep one he made (after the fact) to someone else. :snooty:

Elin, I'm sorry.....men just don't get it sometimes, do they?

I know, the summer is flying by, isn't it? My daughter starts kindergarten in less than 3 weeks, and it seems like it was the 4th of July just yesterday. Do you guys get out earlier in the year? Most schools around here don't start until the week of the 24th....the 6th seems really early!

I have to vent. Ever have one of those days? Today I have decided that the Griswolds have absolutely nothing on my family.
Oh honey, I'm so sorry  How's Drew holding up? How's Fred handling it?

I'm glad I had some food porn and the parakeet story.

We just got a call about 30 minutes ago that my grandmother just passed. Thanks for all the pixie dust, food porn and (I'm sorry Drew!) laughter. It helps.
:hug::hug:

Lori, I am so sorry about your grandmother.:hug:

Alison, tell Drew how sorry I am about the parakeet. That's just terrible--I did have to laugh a little though. Not about its passing, just the interrment process. :littleangel: I hope your son has a good send off today and enjoys college!

Chelsi, loved the food porn and I'm glad you had a great anniversary! I am still trying to decide how I am going to share our trip/food with you guys (and 900 pictures!) The beer bubble was very intriguing.

Brenda, you work it girl!! I think I will start walking with my friend again, now that schools starts tomorrow. Do you know how much fruits and vegetables we did not have in the past two weeks??

And last but not least, Michelle, Michelle. We are a peace loving bunch around here, and probably don't know too many bail bondsmen to call for you. Try to stay out of trouble, girl. ;)

I notice you didn't specify which Michelle......probably because trouble finds all Michelles ;)

MEN :headache:
Go have the time of your life and I hope it rains on whatever he's doing instead :thumbsup2

School started already? :scared1: The only ones that started here are the year round schools. We start the 24th, but of course high school tennis practice has started and matches start the 17th :confused3
I'm looking forward to some quiet during the day, but not the headaches with homework, schedules and so on

TDC Nala ... I hate nametags, too. I refuse to wear them most times. They are purely voluntary at this shin-dig. And ... if you're the only person without one then we'll all know who you are anyway!

Lori will make sure everyone knows who I am ;)

I wear the tags, I just hate it. They end up in difficult to read places unless it's a work function. I hope Disneyland doesn't want me to wear a nametag to that Haunted Mansion cocktail party.

That stinks. I have always wanted to get away for one of those weekends, since it is pretty local, but I always seem to be busy in the summer.

I'm trying to figure that out as well. I may have two trips in 2010, so am considering buying an AP, and then renewing it for my 2011 and 2012 trips. I probably will go for it if I do have two trips next year.

I'm suprised school's already started in your area. The kids here have another couple weeks, and though I'm not sure of the exact starting date, I think it's in the last week when they do go back.

Our schools (most of them, anyway) don't start back until after Labor Day. It amzes me to hear about your kids starting school now. I am still teaching summer session!

It's still here in NY... but you get out while ours are still in...

That is the cutest thing I have ever seen! Makes you want to do something slightly illegal just to get to spend an hour or two there!

Didn't say I haven't been IN there... :rotfl:

Actually I just stopped by one night because we were doing our annual ride around the lake and noticed that some kid had gotten daddy's Beemer stuck in the sand over by Cherry Cove...(they was neckin...) went to the jail to tell them (I think I woke the sheriff up...) and the Sheriff just laughed at the kid's situation and asked didn't I know someone who could hook it up to a truck and tow him out... Ummmmmm no.. I didn't know them... he said he'd have to wake Ed up to get the tow truck out and that was gonna cost 'em... (like I cared...:rotfl:)

I notice you didn't specify which Michelle......probably because trouble finds all Michelles ;)

Well... you know us... instead of vacation funds we should start bail funds... :rolleyes1(we look SO innocent...)

Aw, that's such a big milestone, isn't it? We get out May 25th this year.

Well, I thought I had only seen Michelle in NY almost arrested; is there something you want to tell us??? :rotfl2:

Our 2 year round schools started mid-July here in the city. I really wish they would change the whole city over to that schedule, but when it went up for a vote about 5 years ago, you would have thought the world was coming to an end.

School started on the 3rd in a neighboring county!:scared1:

The weather here just now got hottish--it's been an unusually cool summer. And I just want to say I hope you have a great weekend, even if hubby did put himself in the doghouse! ;)

It's still here in NY... but you get out while ours are still in...

True...but this summer it was too cool to go swimming until almost July. Odd weather.

we are innocent

nope I know nothing

I miss year round school! Megan went to a year round school from K-4th when we were redistricted to a "traditional" calendar school. I used to love vacationing in the fall and going to Disney in early December. 6 week long summer vacations were perfect, enough time to go to Girl Scout camp, etc but not so long they were bored. Now I have to go to Disney during the summer or during the holidays :headache:

So when are we going to hear about Disneyland??? Inquiring minds want to know :goodvibes

Our weather has just started to heat up too. Our electric bill has been wonderful!

Love your new avatar, WhoMom! :goodvibes

And thanks for the weekend well-wishes. DH tried to explain to me tonight that he really didn't understand that my feelings would be so hurt. I asked him if he had been talking to DD and he tried to deny it. I reminded him that we had known each other for 42 years and he had better not try to pull the wool over my eyes. He rolled his eyes and walked out of the room. Meanwhile I heard DD snickering in the other room. :rotfl2:

:lmao: Well if you're going to do any skinnydipping please do it at the lake! We won't worry about you as much in that fancy hoosegow. ;)

Happy Friday ... I've got a four-day weekend! :cool1:

I just have to make it through today ... ugh. We also have a trivia night that we're going to after I get home from work so I'm not going to be back here until tomorrow morning. So have a good Friday everyone and line up your wine for tomorrow night! :thumbsup2

I am coming home tomorrow late afternoon/early evening. I might make it back in time for our tasting since we are on BendyTime, aka Central Time. ;)

Have good Fridays, everyone!

Hey Whomom ... love your new avatar!!! :goodvibes

Thanks! I thought it was time to update it--the other one was two years old. We love us some spinning teacups! :dance3:

So when are we going to hear about Disneyland??? Inquiring minds want to know :goodvibes

Ok, this is where I need everybody's input, should I just do the Disneyland report (2 days), or do a whole trip report and figure out where to put it on the California boards? There are more food pictures if I do the whole thing. You guys have to promise to read and comment because I've never done a TR before! :teeth:

I love baby showers in the South--usually as much food as at the wedding! See you tomorrow!

I would kill to go to Emeril's for Indian. (well not literally)
