I wasn't trying to be a sad sack- when I look up the events too it seems like all the cool stuff is going to be later in the month as well. I'll do better planning for next year, I'm so used to just rolling down to DCA whenever I want.
Maybe I can use the button to warn people? More of my flock will be coming! Batten down the hatches!
Oh, and I just found out that my Mom is taking us all on a surprise cruise from October 9th-14th!I'll stuff myself at F&WF for a week, have a week off, then go down to Mexico to gorge myself again.
We even found a 2 wineries to visit. I'm going to need bigger pants...
Can you pack me in your suitcase for both trips? Although I eat a lot, I'm pretty small, and won't take up much room!

We had a really good laugh at his expense though, so all was not lost (well, on him it was). This guy was trying to argue with the master sommelier about where the wines were from (we did a blind tasting). At one point during the tasting Fred left and went outside for a cigarette. He comes back in as we are tasting one of the reds and this guy starts telling the sommelier that the wine had very strong tobacco notes and the sommelier just looked at him crosseyed. We all roared with laughter at our table, even the people that weren't with us, because we all knew it was Fred wreaking of cigarettes and not the wine at all, but that guy just knew better than all of us and insisted it was the wine.
