I didn't catch the Python reference because (according to Robert P) I am so very, very young.:cloud9::rotfl2:

What is the day before? I won't be there, but I'll participate in the 'at home and wishing I was there' drinking contest! I'm sure those of us who are not lucky enough to be at WDW will kick *** in the drinking department.:cool2:

It sounds like the unofficial drinking contest will be taking place throughout the day and evening of the 17th before we get together that night for cake. We were talking about having a general toast to all the friendies, both present and sadly not at WDW, around 10PM that night. It was Bridget's idea ... you can raise your glass in a toast or you can throw toast. :lmao:

Bendy as you'll know by now Big Bertha and notsolittle Bertha will be going to the Food and wine on the 22nd the Thursday night this is the e-mail i got when i confirmed i didn't mind them sacking me off to go there..."Cant wait, from Miami to clear water I am going to drink water and eat dust and then when I get to Epcot I’m going to munch like a fat kid at an all-you can eat buffet!!".......:rolleyes1

PS....As for me i'll be on my own sat in some dark seedy bar somewhere...:rolleyes1

The online dining reservation system rolls over to the next day at 6 AM Eastern. If you're on the west coast, that's 3 AM Pacific. The other times are the opening of the system in the various other time zones. The phone system opens at 7 AM eastern.

Me :upsidedow

My reservation was 8:55 and the pager didn't work so got seated closer to 9:20.

Catherine, I swear people on the east coast are saying they got logged on before 6 am, which is what is confusing me. And the system showed already switched over for me yesterday (even thought I didn't officially book anything) before 6. Do you think their adrs are not really valid? I don't like being confused.

I didn't mean offense to people who eat late, I was actually referring to who is getting MY adrs before I can book them if they're on at 3 am! All hail to the late night eating people; I just can't do it anymore!

Pimping a new set of reviews from our friend RobertP

And Now For Something Completely Different

Thanks for the heads up--I always enjoy his reviews.

I will have to pencil that in on my calendar--a toast by proxy!

Hi, I have been lurking here for a bit, but I think I can offer a bit of information on this topic. :goodvibes

I am from Germany, so 3 am eastern time is 9 am for me here. I had read about online ADRs becoming available at 3 am, too, and therefore this morning at work I checked and at 9:03 am German time ADRs for December 9 were already bookable. I am planning on monitoring this for a few days and can report back!

Welcome!! :goodvibes

this ADR thing is becoming more and more interesting ... I've seen a lot of those posts, too, and wonder what the heck is going on. And then I read a post by someone yesterday who said he couldn't get a reservation for 1 at Tony's at the MK but when he tried booking for a party of 2 or 4 for the exact same date and time there were suddenly a ton of options. That's just whacked! :headache:

Also, I've read your reviews before and always enjoy them! :goodvibes

Really? :yay:

Runs off to check email ...

I rarely go to sleep before 2 or 3 AM eastern time. I think I'll stay up and check tonight and see if I can book for 12/10 tonight.

Maybe I'll gather some of my friends in DCA and we'll have a toast of our own around 7PM PST. I'd like to meet all of you, but I can't get to fussed up about it. After my WDW trip I leave for Mexico 7 days later (on my Mom's dime). WDW then- free cruise, free booze, free food, and wine tasting excursions. It dulls the sting of missing a swinging B'day party just a bit.:rotfl:

What I'm really looking forward to is my first "adult" vacation with my parental units and brother. My brother is my best friend, and like my twin. My step dad is the greatest guy ever and his sense of humor is so dry. And my Mother... well let's just say that I have been described as the caffeine-free diet version of my Mom. So... you get the idea.:rolleyes1:lmao:

Hi just popping in to say "Hi to Bendy & the friendies!"

I've been MIA this past week. My little 6yo niece has been in the hospital. Her appendix ruptured last Wednesday & she had emergency surgery. She is finally home & doing much better. But it was a rough rough week.

Brenda, I read back a bit & see that you were feeling bad. I hope your back to your normal not so crohny self!:goodvibes

SQUEEEEEE!!!

Waiting for a return phone call from Y&B Private Dining about a custom cake! :cool1:

Jay will kill me when he finds out how much it's likely to cost ... but since I pay the bills what he doesn't know won't move him to a murderous rampage. :rotfl2:

:lmao: If he does find out just remember it's easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission

I really wish you were going to be there, too. Some day we must meet over many types of booze. But trust me when I tell you that someone else will have to provide the cake! :lmao:

I describe it in loving detail ... sort of ... on my newest food review thread. Come check it out! :thumbsup2
Where do I go 1st? Robert P or your food blog :confused3

I think it's nuts for someone to fly all the way from Denmark and not be able to get a reservation because he's asking for one instead of two...so I answered him.
I actually had my own little situation with the numbers games planning this trip. Our daughter wants to go to Cape May. We need a reservation for 4. The only thing I could find was a table at 8:50pm. When I changed to a table for 6, magically 6:50pm appeared. We really didn't want to eat at basically 9pm. Am I going to heck because I booked for 6 guests and will tell the podium person that our other two guests couldn't make it?

Lots of fun trips for you!! Would love to hear about Mexico.

Glad your niece is better, what a week that must have been.

:lmao: If he does find out just remember it's easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission

I need to remember these wise words.

This eve is the office picnic, so I have a kitchen pass. It's three weeks tomorrow until we leave. OK, I've gone into overplan mode, but it's fun! I started getting clothes/shoes together, that sort of thing. I am getting so excited!!:yay:

Can I ask the Friendies for some input? We're going to the Signature dinner at Wolfgang Puck's. We've not done one of these before. Am I better in a black sleeveless moderately dressy dress with lowish heeled sandals, (something I'd wear in Vegas to dinner), or a nice top/dress pants. Or, is either fine?

I'd say either is fine, but I'd probably go with the dress because I never get to feel like a girl.;):rotfl:

Ye Ole Friendies!!!
I finally got my pictures onto the computer..so here are some from my fun day /night in Newport with my bridal party last weekend.
Before any imbibing we did tour a Mansion in Newport called :Rosecliff: it was actually where they filmed the Great Gatsby, True Lies and a scene from 27 Dresses..it was gorgeous.they wouldn't let us take pictures INSIDE so we took some outside

The wine of my choice that night was "layer cake" a Shiraz from Australia.

.i loved it..it paired really well with the cheese:

It was a very fun night!!

Gina great bachlorette party pictures, Rosecliff is one of my favorites, I wonder why you couldn't take pictures inside, I took a bunch when we were there. I haven't been to the Red Parrot in a while but it's one of our favorites.

I went to my Weight Watchers meeting this morning, and I finally smashed through a barrier that I've been struggling with for a few weeks.

What did I do? Well, I managed to have a total loss of:
50.2 lbs. !!

I think that deserves some dancing bananas.
:banana::banana::banana:

Very nice, Congrats:banana::banana::banana: and may I add, I hit the 40 lb loss today, so :banana:QUOTE]

Congrats to Lori and Susan

OK friendies ... Bendy's asking for some good karma. I felt great yesterday until about 10PM ... let's just say the Crohn goblin has paid me a visit and it's very bad right now - to the point that Jay may have to take me to the ER. I don't want to get into specifics because it's gross but trust me when I tell you there's only one reason I'd go to the ER because of this. If that happens I'm probably looking at a two or three day stay at minimum and I'm really trying to avoid that at all costs.

I wanted to lose more weight but this wasn't exactly what I had in mind. :scared1:

Post pixie dust on the way (I see you are feeling better)!

SQUEEEEEE!!!

Woo hoo we have cake :dance3: I was thinking about what we'll be having when I walked by the Boardwalk Bakery yesterday!

Pixie dust on the way for your niece :wizard:

Just spent the past half hour catching up on 11 pages, you guys were talkative while I was away.

I've got food porn to share once I take the pictures off my camera. I was bad though and forgot my camera the first night and of course that was the night we went to Citricos :eek:

Welcome back, missed you! Can't wait to hear all about it and see your porn. Please tell me about Citrico's, I'm really excited about trying it for the first time next month!!!

Deb, welcome home! :goodvibes

Gin ... I'd go for the dress. It's a special dinner so why not glam it up a bit? :thumbsup2

Sheryl, hope your niece is doing better. Poor little thing ... six years and to have that happen - scary.

anybody gonna spring for paid wifi in the solarium so the thread can toast too? is it even available there? maybe I can do that instead of bringing wine because I'd have to buy wine at Disney, can't take it on the plane.

There also may be an impromptu playing of The Haunted Mansion Game of Life over the weekend somewhere maybe. Might have access to a suite in the Dolphin. I just got the game for my birthday and I'd like to play it sometime instead of having it sit shrinkwrapped forever...

I never stopped to think about whether or not wifi was available in the lobby / solarium areas. I do know that we will not have our computer with us on this trip.

Tell us more about this game you speak of ... some of us (namely me) are clueless.
