Slow thread today. We are nothing without our maker!:worship: Hope you're doing better Brenda!:grouphug:

I was out most of the day, cat sitting for my brother, and helping my Mom with various blah-blah. I got home @ 3:30PM after picking up dinner and there was a message from the place I've been interviewing with for the better part of a 2 months. They want to offer me a job, but had to leave a message because I wasn't at home. Their home office is on Central Time, so I had to leave a message and wait until tomorrow to hear what the job is and what I'll get paid.:headache:

It's especially frustrating, because they know my vacation is two weeks away, and I had my first phone interview with them almost 2 months ago.:sad2: Everyone was on vacation at various times and I got passed around like a plate of cheese at a mouse convention. So I'm going to banana dance with joy, but I don't really know what I'm dancing for yet. It'll still be better than what I'm doing now though.
:banana::banana::banana:

Congrats on the offer, Laura!

I'm feeling better today than yesterday and definitely better than Saturday night and Sunday. Still have to go see the GI next week ... I already know where that's going to end up.

Congrats on the phone call and job offer! Sucks about being given the interview run around, though. I hate that ... if it happens too much I usually tell them if that's how they treat people I'd be better off staying put (at least with my current employer I know what kind of crap I'm expected to eat ... ya know what I mean?). It's amazing how that can (sometimes) prompt people to suddenly treat you better.

Love your new Lisa avatar!! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear that you are feeling better, Brenda!

fly by post... 1 certificate per table

Yeah... anyone notice that when Bendy's not drinkin... we get vewy qwiet???? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's what I was saying yesterday.

I'm glad you are feeling better. Good luck at the GI:flower3: At least this didn't happen on vacation.

And thanks to everyone for the kind words for my new job.:grouphug: I called back today and they just have to complete the criminal background check, but it's pretty much a go from here. Luckily I am the only one of my Mother's 3 children to never have the cops come a knocking on her door.:rotfl: I did once shoot a man just to watch him die, but I don't think they'll be looking into that...:rolleyes1

And the vacation is no problem, they were apologizing for taking so long, but they wanted to give me a higher up position, and well who can argue with that?:goodvibes

And now to commence shaking my banana :banana::banana:

........

Laura-Congrats! I hope the offer is just what you wanted with all the bells and whistles (and no interferences of Disney vacation time). Keep us posted.

Congrats on the interview... hope it turns out good for you!!! :goodvibes

Laura - Congrats on the interview, hope it works out!!!:thumbsup2

Bendy - Happy to hear you're getting better!!!

Good luck! Hope you're doing the banana dance for real soon
..........

Congrats on the offer, Laura!

Laura, do we get to know what it is you will be doing? Some kind of teaching perhaps? :confused3

Glad you're finaly on the mend, Brenda!

So, what's up with dining reservations now letting you book before 6 a.m.???? I was reading about people being able to book at 3, 4, 5:20, etc. so I tried it myself this morning since I've been awake since 3 anyway. The computer was already up at 4:30 to book for Dec. 8! How do I know what time to get up to make reservations a WEEK FROM TODAY? I cannot wait until it goes back to 180 days.

And, I just checked 'Ohana for the heck of it and the only dinner time available for our party (if we were there on 12/8) was 9:35 p.m. WHO is making all these adrs in the middle of the night????? Nothing for Chef Mickey's by the way. I can't imagine what it will be like trying for real!

The online dining reservation system rolls over to the next day at 6 AM Eastern. If you're on the west coast, that's 3 AM Pacific. The other times are the opening of the system in the various other time zones. The phone system opens at 7 AM eastern.

Me :upsidedow

My reservation was 8:55 and the pager didn't work so got seated closer to 9:20.

SQUEEEEEE!!!

Waiting for a return phone call from Y&B Private Dining about a custom cake! :cool1:

Jay will kill me when he finds out how much it's likely to cost ... but since I pay the bills what he doesn't know won't move him to a murderous rampage. :rotfl2:

Pimping a new set of reviews from our friend RobertP

And Now For Something Completely Different

Yeah, I made the mistake of telling dh that the Disneyland Hotel was quite a bit less than the Grand Californian. :headache: Oh well. I'm so excited to go to Disneyland again!! Can't wait to surprise the kids. Haunted Mansion Holiday and the Space Mountain overlay are going to be great.

Bendy, did you see that I found a Grimace costume?

Briarmom ... I did see the Grimace costume! It was a hoot! :thumbsup2

AND ...

I just placed the cake order!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Woohoo! Wish I was going to be there. Maybe next time.

I really wish you were going to be there, too. Some day we must meet over many types of booze. But trust me when I tell you that someone else will have to provide the cake! :lmao:

I describe it in loving detail ... sort of ... on my newest food review thread. Come check it out! :thumbsup2

Woo Hoo! Headed over to check it out!
You have to watch it Brenda! You have posted this to 30-50 people all imbibing from the "treasure chest" - don't let anyone slip up in a drunken sloop and talk about the cost! :rotfl: Will it be like Father of the Bride?
"Brenda! A Cake is made of flower and water!" ... "welcome to the 90's Mr. Banks!" :lmao:

I LOVE HAUNTED MANSION HOLIDAY! It's my FAV. thing ever at Disneyland! :yay:

Glad to hear you are feeling better Brenda!

The cake sounds great -- just checked out your other thread:thumbsup2

Laura, congrats on the new job:cheer2::cheer2: And glad it won't interfere with your vacation!

Thank you:goodvibes They are very willing to work around everything. They love me, they really love me!:rotfl2:

MINE TOO! I can't wait to see what they did with Space Mtn.

Tomorrow I am going to make reservations for a couple of restaurants (I guess I'd better decide tonight...), buy tickets for Mickey's Trick or Treat party, and reserve the Happiest Haunts Tour. I may do PS (ADR for you WDW folks) for Fantasmic! so we are guaranteed to see it, but I think it may be overkill for 3 nights at the park....I'll have to see.

I am going to *try* to keep this all a surprise. We'll pick the kids up from school Thurs (a bit early) and tell them then. I was going to give them a little something 'clue-ish' (gift cards and t-shirts?) and play the Haunted Mansion Holiday song and tell them I thought they should wear the t-shirts when they ride the ride tomorrow!!

DS doesn't really like surprises, though. But Halloween is his favorite time, and Disneyland is his favorite park.

Oh, and I need to learn how to photograph food.....:rotfl:

I found Robert P's report because of the Monty Python thread title. I loved his Fulton's report. I want some of that Soylent Granita. (You'll know what this is when you read his review.)

And I couldn't get over how many people are having a "drinking contest" (not really, but it sure looks like many of us have many opportunities to drink that day!) before cake. We'll be a hot mess 'o people by the time we have cake.

I didn't catch the Python reference because (according to Robert P) I am so very, very young.:cloud9::rotfl2:

What is the day before? I won't be there, but I'll participate in the 'at home and wishing I was there' drinking contest! I'm sure those of us who are not lucky enough to be at WDW will kick *** in the drinking department.:cool2:
