So what's eveyone got planned this weekend?

We're busier than we expected to be. Tonight we have the baseball game and it's an early start at 6:15pm ... playing the Padres. Hopefully it will be a good game - no rain delays this time! :cool1:

Tomorrow we're meeting the parental unit and Guest X and Guest Y at Schlafley's Tap Room for dinner ... early dinner at 4:30PM because that's how Grimace rolls. I'm pumped only because we haven't been to the Tap Room in years and it's one of our favorite places (a long drive - 45 miles - so we obviously don't go often) to eat and drink. Great microbrewery beer and food fashioned after an English pub.

I will take my camera and hopefully have something posted on the blog later this week. Our wine tasting is on Thursday so my fingers are gonna be busy.

Guest Y called me back last night about 9:30 and seemed tepidly interested in a signature dinner at the Wave. Too late, I told him ... all sold out.

"Really?" says he. "When did they start taking reservations?"

"Tuesday morning. I'd guess they were sold out within 48 hours."

"There are a lot of food freaks out there, huh?"

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We plan on going out on the boat. Its too nice to stay in the house any longer. I slept in so we're off to a slow start. We'll be on the water just in time for the heat of the day this afternoon. :beach:

Have fun at the Padres game. I shamefully admit we are not a sports oriented family at all. Something must have happened in the genetic passdown. Last year one of my aunts won a luxury box fully catered from her job to one of our local teams and invited the whole family-most of us sat there the whole time chowing down and bs'ing, couldn't tell you about the game at all (even if I HAD watched it). I need to get me some athletic appreciation. Have fun at Schlafley's tomorrow.

doesn't care for Who or Zep? :scared1:

Me. They just don't do it for me one way or the other.

I am really bored today, so dragged out my old Playstation, (seriously, really bored,) and put on the Ratatouille game for some dumb good funny fun, and wanted to share this one clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_NIn55ha3g

I wish I could run through a bunch of cheese like that, though I'd be stopping to eat it all. :lmao:

I had typed responses, but these boards are being unkind to me today and crapped out on me.:headache: I've been having ongoing Dis-issues on the weekends.

So- Nice ADRs everyone! I am really curious about the Wave, it lost out this trip, but is another of those "I must go back to eat ______" places. I really wanted Rose and Crown, but their menu was so small, and then got smaller, so I went elsewhere.:confused3

My weekend plans are- baseball afternoon/ dvd night with the Spouse (I may have food porn pics, I'm cooking... I don't know what, yet) and tomorrow Book/Bake/Booze club w/ my friends. It's a normal bookclub but we all bake/bring booze to it.:thumbsup2 It's a wonderful way to spend a Sunday. Our book this time was Middlesex.

And regarding the talk about the Who/Zepplin from yesterday, I'm a Zepplin girl with strong Who tendencies. The Spouse is largely indifferent to the Who, but loves Zepplin with the force of a thousand tiny wind up monkeys.

Quoting you again ... now I'm really confused. I was told one thing and Chelsi was told something else and now you never got an email about the 22nd?

what in the name of all that is over-priced is going on???

It's Disney. Their motto is "If we can screw it up we will."

The government agency I work for (which shall remain nameless) had a parody IT site up on their intranet awhile back which read "Yesterday's technology, tomorrow." The government is very much like Disney.

Where else could I go post that I am excited that Trader Joe's had fresh figs? I love figs.

I like the Who more than Led Zeppelin. But I've got a thing about "Black Dog" and like to play it in the car.

Geeesh, I'm old. My music is now called "that era":lmao::lmao: I remember seeing 3 dog night in concert in high school. I remember going to a Beach Boys concert my freshman year of college and the opening act was an unknown, Billy Joel. His Piano Man song was just being released. I wonder if he ever became successful.:rotfl2::rotfl2:
I love the Beach Boys, but when I saw them it was a reunion concert and John Stamos was playing drums...... Billy Joel is one of my all time favorites!

Other than that, I'm really an 80's,90's, 00's pop music kinda girl

No Zeppelin? :faint: Next you're going to tell me you don't like Pink Floyd, either.

It's not that I don't like Pink Floyd (or Zeppelin) it's just not a love sort of thing :rolleyes1

It's Disney. Their motto is "If we can screw it up we will."

:lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: It's sad how true that it :sad2:

you misunderstand ... I only shelled $3 for a bottle of bitters today. We already had the other ingredients ... they were purchased years ago. I thought I said that we bought the absinthe some years back, but maybe I only typed that in my head. :lmao:

Ok, I guess you're shelling out a buck less now.

this sazerac isn't half bad ... kind of reminds me of a Manhattan (must be the bourbon). I probably didn't make it exactly right ... what can I say - we don't keep lemon twists in the house - but it's tasty. I will be most interested to see what is produced at the NOLA booth at F&W ... this drink is all booze. :lmao:

Well, now you can try the one in October and declare it inferior to the one you made. ;)

not going to do a pre or actual trip report for the Overhyped Disney Restaurant tour in 2 weeks. just food porn and the Simpsons Pictorial Review System. As live as I can get it since I'm in DVC for 8 nights with free internet and have no club to hang out in at night anymore.

Looking forward to the food porn.

I couldn't have gone ... I don't like to get dirty. :rotfl2:

We both could have gone to Woodstock. In utero. If our mothers went. :rotfl2:

I have been drinking a liitle tonight. And it is not wine! I know you all are shocked. We have a local micro-brewery that was having a sale on their returnable "growlers" so I hot-footed it over there to pick one up:

0814091833_0001.jpg

Now I want to start singing that "Two brothers on their way..." from The American Adventure. "One was gentle, one was kind..." Gah, get it out of my head. Love the attraction, but I don't want that song in my head.

Heheheh. I hear that Joel boy did well for himself. ;)

And to the question, "What are you doing this weekend?" Pretty soon I'll change clothes to go out to see "Light in the Piazza" at the Marriott Lincolnshire Theater, followed by dinner. My mom, sister, moms friends and one of their daughters (6 of us) have season tickets. :goodvibes

Tomorrow I'm getting up early to a DIS meet at the Doorway to Dreams DVC store at Woodfield Mall.

If I had been able to get away and go up to Michigan, I would be at my 20 year reunion tonight  but, I couldn't make that work with all the schedules around our house. What am I doing instead? Good question  We're debating going to the Triple A baseball game tonight or just getting pizza & burning a flick.

Tomorrow we're going to our new(ish) Ikea to check it out. Should be a fun, mostly cheap day of entertainment :thumbsup2

I just entered a sweeps on the Disney.com passholder site to win a night's stay in the Cinderella Castle suite on December 11th, 2009.

Since I'm already staying at BCV on December 10-14, I figured I had to enter this sweeps! Wish me luck. :wizard:

if my parents were hippies I could have gone to Woodstock. My parents were NOT hippies.

Good Luck Lori - I'll be crossing my fingers for you :thumbsup2

Since I can't sleep because of a knotted up muscle on my shoulder blade, I thought I'd post my adr list. This wasn't the pleasant conversation I had envisioned with dh, not because of disagreement of the restaurants, but because he needed a "break". "rolleyes2" While we were in the living room, dd came in wanting to practice her piano (she just started this week). That led to her frustration, whining, us trying to help, tears, and dh explaining he just wanted to watch TV for a while and needed a break from the planning--yeah we had gotten to the third adr choice by this time. :rotfl:

Here's the line-up for now:

12/15 Arrive and probable CS dinner at Pepper Market.
12/16 MK day CHH for lunch and 'Ohana for dinner.
12/17 AK day CS for lunch and Boma for dinner.
12/18 Epcot day Candlelight Processional Le Cellier lunch. Snacks and drinkypoos later after the 5:45 show. (end of dh's input last night) If can't get LC, dh requested Coral Reef--if he doesn't show more interest in planning I'm going with my pick of Rose and Crown.
12/19 MK day, sleep in if hours open till midnight like last year. Grand Floridian Tea Room for lunch then MK. Casey's for dinner?
12/20 DHS day Sleep in, Kona breakfast. Kouzzina dinner then back to DHS for Osbourne lights and emh if it follows last year's schedule.
12/21 Epcot last day :sad1: Princess Storybook breakfast in Norway. Either eat around the world early dinner or Rose and Crown, because I want Sticky Toffee Pudding.
12/22 Leave for home.

Jamie, you've got some of my favorites in there....although I've been seeing mixed reviews lately on the Pepper Market, which makes me sad. I'll be interested to read your reviews.

So what's eveyone got planned this weekend?

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hope you had a good time at the pub and the game! And Guest Y's comment is priceless....can you imagine his reaction if he ever saw the dining review thread on the DIS?

As for what we are up to....not much! Tonight is family movie night, which means Emma gets to pick, so we will undoubtedly be watching something that features either princessess, fairies or Barbie! Thank god we picked up a bottle of wine today....those movies are much more palatable when you've got a buzz on.:lmao:

Here are our ADR's while we are going -unless the Wave rolls us luck OR now PNO4TE said that Kona was bad.. may rethink it!

Heather, I'm not looking forward to PM and didn't really want to plan on eating there. If we get in early enough and arent' too tired, my secret plan is to go to DTD to eat. :ssst:

We had a cookout today at my mom's youngest brother's house. It was nice to see cousins that I only see about once a year and their kids and of course good food! It was good to get my dad out, too, since he's not been in the best health in the last year or so.

We've stayed at CSR several times....the first time was right after it had opened, and we loved PM....we probably ate there 3 or 4 times. The next time was 2 years later, and it was still good....but on the last couple of trips that have been more recent, I haven't been impressed at all. I used to think that it was the best of the food courts....there were so many choices, and the food seemed so much fresher, but with all the reviews it's been getting lately, and our own experience the last few trips, I think that it might be past it's prime now.

Has anyone seen Chefs vs City on Food Network? .......it's on right now (for you East Coasters) and they are in Vegas, which I know is a favorite destination for many of you.;)
We watched, what a fast paced show, but yikes! Each team having to share 100 tasting bites was too much!! :scared1:

I have been drinking a liitle tonight. And it is not wine! I know you all are shocked. We have a local micro-brewery that was having a sale on their returnable "growlers" so I hot-footed it over there to pick one up:

Happy weekend, friendies! We went to the planetarium and then to dinner yesterday. Lots of fun!
Today it's COLD. No joke, it's 39 degrees out there. (I'm about an hour from Park City) It's supposed to slowly warm over the next week. I'm not ready for winter, so bring back the 90's.
Have a great day, everyone! :goodvibes

MOTHER OF PEARL!!!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Our coffee maker just crapped out on us. It's only four years old and never even gave us an inkling that it was on its last legs ... Jay did make a good point though - we used that damn thing so much we probably put ten years worth of use on it through four years. :rotfl2:

We're using the French Press this morning but the way we drink coffee we're going to have to make a double batch. :lmao:

Good news is that the Cards won their game last night - YAY! :yay:

And Cathy ... those pictures look amazing! Can't wait to hear all about your dinner. :goodvibes

The newest menu pics I've seen just haven't been very exciting. I did see the gelato at Cafe Rix (is that right?) and that seemed very yummy! We've stayed at Pop and ASMovies and, other than breakfast, I was unimpressed with the food courts in general. Maybe I need to find out what pizza places deliver to CS--I guess you would meet them at El Centro?
