I remember Splash. I'm so sorry! I know it must be a difficult decision for her family. It's so heartbreaking to lose a much loved pet. My thoughts will be with them.
Sending prayers for a peaceful crossing to the Rainbow Bridge. Know that Splash will be restored to a healthy, whole body and be patting butterflies at the Bridge.
My own cat is 7 years old, a third of Splash's age. Splash was always so inspiring to me as I hope I will have that much time with my own cat. I've been hugging the stuffings out of her since yesterday.
I haven't heard anything yet. I hope Jo and her family are alright. I'll keep everyone updated. I know all your support since yesterday means a great deal to her.
"We are home.
I held her in my arms the entire car ride & even when walking into the office. No carrier today.
They are so sweet & know us well there that they led us right into a room where we had more time before it was time.
Our regular vet wasn't there today - which we knew about beforehand. She said 21 cats years is about 106 people years. A good long life.
And like any good tortishell kitty with tortitude, she put up her fight right to the end. As much as she could anyway. She went quickly & peacefully.
Is now in kitty heaven where she is no longer in darkness & silence. No more needles [for daily IV fluids.] No more forgetfulness."
Thanks again for all the support. I'll pass it on to Jo & her DH. It was heartening for her to learn so many people here remembered Splash fondly.
