I just thought I'd let you know that I am in a slight state of mourning...

Yet again... another one of my ex-boyfriends has gotten married...

We will be having a pity party for at least... three days...

The "I wasn't good enough" cocktail party will be followed by the "I don't care if you tell me he wasn't the one" hangover.

Seeing as it was NOT me... I will NOT be registered anywhere except the pharmacy where my Valium comes from.

There will be a moment of silence in between my sobs...

Don't bother to RSVP... I will be the one with my head between 2 pillows until at least noon tomorrow...

Nope, it has nothing to do with being from North Jersey. I grew up in Central Jersey and we always said we were going DOWNTHESHORE too. We still say that. Yep, it's one word and there are no beaches here

I think it depends where you live in NJ. I've lived here for nearly half a century (yikes that sounds waaaaaay old) and nobody by me says down the shore. Maybe its because we actually live AT the shore so there's nowhere to go down to? So yes...we actually just go to the beach. When I hear someone say down the shore I instantly know they are not local, are a transplant (usually from up north as we call the folks from the west something different) or are a non-year round resident.

hiya friendies!

Just wanted to let you know we made it home ... my car is still in the service bay and won't be released until tomorrow and it's gonna cost about $800 because there was a crack somewhere and the oil and antifreeze were leaking into each other.

Glad you made it home! No fun about the car, though. One of our work trucks has been riding that fine line of "repair or replace" for over a year, but it's still cheaper than buying a new one. What do you drive?

I just wanted to jump in and say thanks for all the fun laughs you guys have given me This may be the best thread to read on the boards

I started to read here looking for info for the upcoming F&W show, having read Lori's and Brenda's TR from previous years. DH and I will be there from 10/23-11/4, staying at BLT. We have been to F&W several times, with our last time being 2 years ago where we did a couple of Signature dinners including V&A.

We just got back from a week, where we ate at a signature resturant every night mmmmmmmm.

So, please keep up all the fun, and the food porn.

BTW, I live 15 minutes from ABT and Lori's review was fun to read. You can literally spend an afternoon there, people watching as well as the electronics.

I lived in Ocean City all my life, and we all refered to it as "the shore", but when we were going to the beach we would say "the beach", case it was like, 3 blocks away. I think it was just to differentiate between we island dwellers and the people living in the sticks.

Tink Rules, I think a ceremonial burning of artifacts from the relationship is in order....any pictures left (that you haven't already cut his face out of, of course), or perhaps an old shirt of his still lying around? Triple points if you've still got the movie theater ticket stubs from your first date!

Then of course, we need to construct the voodoo dolls of him and his wife so that you can make sure that they get proper enjoyment out of their honeymoon! A nice bout of dysentery ought to do the trick, don't you think?

How's everybody today? It's just been one of those weeks...months...summers! I am sooo ready for vacation! I tried pre-packing my carryon and everything fits--it seems really big, but meets the measurement requirements. Oh, well, I hope everybody doesn't bring something to put in the overhead bin on the plane. I've already told dh we have to line up early each time to get to our seats early and snag the bin!

Tink, are you feeling better? I've already made myself a mini brandy milk punch this evening if you'd like some.

Hello All -

Sorry to be gone forever as usual - 4 days before the 4th our oldest cat (6 1/2) tried to jump to high and after two emergency runs to the vet we found out she hurt her knee. So we have been in kitty quieting, med giving, party throwing, in-law staying, sink break HELL! Needless to say we only have a couple pictures from the 4th and no one took pics of the FOOD!
So I am giving what I got -

2nd of July with Jason's Mom and Step-Dad (great people)
We did a Cedar Planked Brie with Toasted Sweet and Spicy Pecans!
We are drinking a dry rose!

The morning of the parade -our house - pools and all!

Food Set up - It was a Breakfast Burrito Bar and I did a Mango Lemonade Mimosa!

Hope everyone had a good 4th - is safe and happy - I saw a few bad things - Brenda? Car breaking?? UGH! To everyone else
By the way can I leave for WDW NOW please?!
