Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

Well, that was certainly a great way to spend the fourth of July! :goodvibes It's been so long since I've been to a wine bar, that food looked amazing. :thumbsup2 Never mind all the neat gadgets after.

hey friendies!!!
first..BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH about Brenda's car issues  no fun!!

Lori..LOVE that place!! I showed the wine cellar/humidor to Greg and i think he drooled..that thing is too cool!

I made a couple of DEEEELICIOUS treats this weekend! I did a kicked up greek hummus where i combined super yummy locally made plain hummus with chopped up kalamata olives, feta cheese and lemon juice..tasty! And i did a yummy salmon mousse item to be spread on bagel chips...smoked salmon puree'd a bit with cream cheese, sour cream, red onion and lemon..YUM!! The best part..there are leftovers..score!:cool1:

Only con I see about it is that it only takes Heineken keglets. Not our favorite brew.

You don't have to use a mini keg in it, although I will say that is preferable. You can use any beer and then attach the co2 canister-issue with this is that it uses up one canister for what equates to about a 6pack of beer. Those little canisters are pricey to keep buying. If you are lucky, you will find other beef varieties in the mini kegs. On occasion we stumble on them and snap them up.

have a good holiday everyone ... just got home a little while ago because my car decided to dump all its oil in the parking lot at work. I just had the damn car serviced last month so I'm hoping they put in a faulty filter or seal. Thankfully one of my co-workers said something and he drove me up to an auto parts store where I had to buy four quarts of oil just to make it out to lesser Stinktown and the car dealership where they think they can look at it on Monday.

Brenda, sorry about your car troubles....they always seem to hit at the worst times, don't they?

Heather, your kiddos are toooo cute:

Thanks...I wish I could take credit, but they are miniatures of DH....I don't think a single one of my genes sneaked in there!

What a couple of cuties!:)

Thanks, we think they turned out pretty good!

Your kids are adorable, and I am in awe of your margarita machine. Wonder if I can convince DH that we need one for the two of us!

If you can convince him, then you can get one for a decent price on E-bay....that's where we found ours.

We're going on a cruise!!!!

Doing the very very very happy dance today  Travel Agent appreciation offer came out today for DCL and I was able to get an absolutely unbelieveable amazing deal for my family :woohoo:
Booked the cruise then called Member Services to change our DVC stay, dropped the last 2 nights and added a new 1st night. We've got 40 points in holding now, but that's ok we'll use them for F&W. So instead of being at BCV from 7/12-7/18 we are now going to BCV from 7/11-7/16 and sailing on the Wonder from 7/16-7/19 :dance3:
The crazy thing is we'll be spending less money by going on the cruise than keeping our original plans. Bye Bye Bistro, but hello Palo!

Chelle, that's fabulous news! Congrats, and I hope you have a great time!

Happy 4th, Friendies!

Online ADR booking went well this morning. I got most of what I wanted, when I wanted and even threw in a surprise or two... I have Todd English's bluezooTM for our last night. We had thrown around the possibility of V&A's but decided to save that for our Christmas trip and take our DDs with us too. I want to try to book Kouzzina later too.

Got the following booked:

Chefs de France (D)
Tusker House (L)
Raglan Road (D)
Sci-Fi Dine-In (L)
Captain's Grille (B) ~ hoping to switch this to Fresh Mediterranean Market. Looks like you can only book it at exactly 90 days.
Todd's Table (D)
Rose & Crown (L)

myBob also wants to go to ESPN and we will hit a few CS places too, but this leaves some wiggle room for F&W kiosk noshing and possibly a special event at F&W too. Still thinking on that one.

Great, line up! We absolutely love the Rose & Crown, though I think it has more to do with the fact that they have Strongbow than anything else!

I've been MIA for a few days with a tummy bug but wanted to wish all the friendies a safe and Happy Fourth!

Kat, I'm glad you're feeling better!

Happy 4th of July everyone! :goodvibes

I booked my ADRS the other day as well. Online booking went ok. I have:
Tutto Italia (D)
Tusker House (D)
Ohana (D)
Kona (D)
Crystal Palace (D) MNSSHP
LeCellier (D)
Grand Floridian Cafe (B)

Leaving one day and several lunches open for F&W booths too :thumbsup2

Sounds great....you've got some of our favorites on there!

All caught up (I think!)

A commercial grade margarita machine!?! :worship: I had no idea this was even possible but now that I do have a hole in my heart (or is it my liver?) that cannot be filled until I have one. How perfect for a beach vacation! And your kiddos are adorable!

Like the commercials say, you can find anything on E-bay:thumbsup2. I'm referring to the margarita machine, not my kids....although after dealing with them on my own non-stop for the last 5 days, I am considering putting them up for sale as well!:rotfl2: And we get year round use out of that machine....we pull it out for the Christmas season as well! Not your traditional yuletide fare, but it's sure great on New Year's Eve!

hiya friendies! :goodvibes

Just wanted to let you know we made it home ... my car is still in the service bay and won't be released until tomorrow and it's gonna cost about $800 because there was a crack somewhere and the oil and antifreeze were leaking into each other.

Bah!

Had a decent weekend ... gawd their house is loud. :headache: Was able to take some time on Saturday to crash a DISmeet at the house of some WI cruise friends and that was really nice - good to meet up with some Disney friends again. :thumbsup2

Hope you all had a great holiday and stayed safe. Any F&W news or any new information on whether the online system recognizes 90+10 for DVCers?

Hey Bendy! Sorry to hear about the car, but at least it is something fixable. We've had some hefty repair bills in the past, and I know how much it stinks.

Glad to hear you had a nice weekend and crashed a DIS meet. Happy to be back home in your quiet house, though, eh?

I thought of everyone over the weekend. I stopped on my home from work on Friday night and picked up not one but two bottles of wine.

For myself. :lmao:

Not all at once of course, but if I'm going to enjoy copious cocktails on my Disney trip, I need to start training now. I opened one tonight, it's actually quite nice. :thumbsup2

I am so happy to be back in my quiet house where no one slams doors, and no one walks like they have thirty pound weights tied around their ankles, and dogs don't bark at all hours, and I know the bathrooms are squeaky clean, and well ... you know what I mean. ;)

It was nice to spend time with Jay's brother and his family but I'm always happy to leave.

I know how you feel. We were at my MIL's yesterday, and I'm always so grateful to come home to my one child and my nice quiet house. :thumbsup2

:scared: Yikes! What a thing to return to. I think you need a good stiff drink to digest that mechanics bill.

Okay, I probably missed this but how old are the kidlets? I totally understand being glad to get away from the noise. Now that mine are teenagers the house is so quiet you can hear a pin drop. I'd be all keyed up with little ones running around.

they have four kids ... 9-year old boy, 7-year old girl, and 4-year old twin girls.

I get keyed up before we even arrive at their house just thinking about how chaotic and noisy it will be. They are really sweet, good kids, but it's just a lot to take when you don't have any of your own. And there were no other kids in my family at or near my age when I was growing up so I never had anyone to be noisy with ... I was a quiet child .... just the way Grimace wanted it.

:thumbsup2 did it just fine on Saturday.... all the days I needed!

Glad you had a decent trip, Brenda, but I wish your car wasn't such a pricey fix!

Excellent news Elin - glad to hear it worked for you! :thumbsup2

As for my car ... we have gone back and forth about trading it this year but didn't want the extra car payment just yet. But at the rate I'm going with repairs on this car in the last year I could have paid an entire year's worth of payments by now. :headache:

It's always something.

Off to go get some coffee flavored coffee with booze. Caffeine was in short supply this weekend and I'm jonesin for some java joe! :rotfl2:

Hang in there, Brenda.

And Elin, how did you manage to get the DVC thing to work online? Just use the DVC confirmation number?

Thanks ... it will be OK ... if it weren't this it would be something else.

I did try logging on with my DVC number and the system recognized the reservation and accessed all the pertinent information so I'm hopeful we can all start using the online system as our 90+10 approaches.

I'm probably late on this, 'cause I was away all weekend, but Briar Rose- I loved your food-technology porn! Awesome.:cool1: My MIL has a state of the art kitchen w/ fryers and wine cellar stuff and she never cooks! Breaks my heart...

and I'm glad you had a good family trip Brenda. Sorry about the car though.:flower3:

Bah!

Brenda, I feel your pain....we had to replace the entire engine in my DH's Suburban this year...the good news is that $2200 dollars later it runs like a dream!

I know just where you are coming from....while my kids are certainly no walk in the park...I know that by 8 pm I can count on both being in bed, and the house being quiet! I was with my family at the beach this weekend, and we had 4 teenagers and 6 little ones running around (one of whom is OCD/ADHD), and none of them went to bed before 10pm any night. By Saturday night, I was a basket case. I was never so happy to see my house as I was yesterday!

And Elin, how did you manage to get the DVC thing to work online? Just use the DVC confirmation number?

::yes:: confirmation number and the phone number you used to book the reservation. If MS didn't attach your phone number to the resv. you need to call and have it added or it won't work for you.

Just catching up on what's been going on. Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. So sad it's all over now -- even sadder to go back to work today. But happy that it's that much closer to my August trip which makes it that much closer to F&W:thumbsup2

Ok... maybe it was us North Jersey people but we always said we were going DOWNTHESHORE - and YES... it IS all ONE WORD... :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: (and for all those not from Jersey.. we don't have beaches... we have the shore...)

Nope, it has nothing to do with being from North Jersey. I grew up in Central Jersey and we always said we were going DOWNTHESHORE too. We still say that. Yep, it's one word and there are no beaches here:rotfl:

Again, for the Vodka Slush we mixed lime seltzer half and half with the 7-up. It was just a bit cloying for some reason this go-round. I don't know if our tastes have changed or if the ingredients from the recipe are sweeter than they used to be, but we really found both our go-to vacation punches to be over the top in the sugar factor this summer. :confused3

Have fun at the beach. And your Kidani trips sound wonderful. :goodvibes

Thanks for the tip on the slushy recipe. I'll have to try this out soon:goodvibes The beach (or shore -- see above comment :rotfl:) was fun and we're so looking forward to Kidani!

I have decided that when the all important F&W booking date of August 11th comes around I'm taking the day off ... gotta make sure I have enough time to book those events. ;)
So sad I won't be able to take off that day since I'm leaving for Disney the next day. I'll just have to get up really early and get it taken care of before leaving for work if I decide I want to do any of the events.
Does anyone have any idea when the "official" F&W schedule will be released?

And because I can never resist an opportunity to show off my kiddos....here's rugrat #1....Emma, 5 years old.

Followed by rugrat #2....Nathan, 17 months old.

And finally....the money shot. The commercial grade margarita machine that is bringing me soul-restoring, mind-numbing salvation this weekend!

As you can see, we've already drained on side.:lmao:

Heather, your kids are just adorable. And that margarita machine looks great:thumbsup2

FYI ... I checked the on-line ADR system earlier this morning and it does recognize my DVC reservation, which is more than I can say for this past weekend. I don't know if provides the 90+10 yet but at least we exist in the computer memory now.

Good to know. I'll have to go on and see if I can get in.

We're going on a cruise!!!!

Great news about the cruise. You must be so excited!

hiya friendies! :goodvibes
