Belly Up to the Bar With Bendy and Her Friendies!!! Button Pics & New Thread Started!

It sounds interesting but I'm confused ... one part of the press release says that reservations aren't required but then another part says walk-ups may be available but not guaranteed and then at the end it says pre-payment is required and reservations will start on June 22???

:confused3 Someone at Disney didn't have their coffee before they released that.

Take pictures Michelle!

Of course the description is confusing! Would you expect any less from Disney? :lmao: I'll find out when I call... or book online? :confused3 who knows... next week.

Speaking of booking online, I did book all of our August ADRs online and everything 'looks' OK. I like the new system so far. (except for the DVC snafu that we can't book 90 +10 online yet - I hope they get that fixed soon.) I have a sneaking suspicion that F&W events will be bookable online, too... but I haven't heard anything official - just a hunch. It would be nice to have an actual confirmation in hand instead of just a number and 'hope' that they find your name on a list for the pricey F&W events...

happy Friday everyone! I'm so glad this week is almost over.

Kinda bummed because we've had to cancel three foodies events this month thanks to my ... outbreak. Two dinners and a drink-fest at the opera this evening, but I'm so tired (and achy) by the end of the day that we thought it best to just let these events pass us by. There will be others.

There's always October! :cool1:

We are getting pumped now that our 90-day ADR date is fast approaching ... less than 30 days to reservation making time! :lmao:

Sorry to hear you had to cancel your foodie events but not feeling well you probably would not have enjoyed them much anyway. And there will definitely be lots of fun stuff in Oct! :thumbsup2 My 90 day ADR date is coming up too -- guess I need to figure that out soon. Wonder if the F&W event schedule will be announced before my ADR time???

Me again! I've got one more foodie tidbit!!! :thumbsup2

My daughter, Jordan, just sent me the link to this new movie coming out and I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!!!

Julie & Julia

Yes, it's about Julia Child and OMG, Meryl Streep is PERFECT! I predict another Oscar win for her! :goodvibes

That movie looks great...does anyone know when it is coming out?

That sounds like a lot of fun.:cool1: We are already doing the Wishes cruise in August or I would definitely think of trying this. Looking forward to hearing how it is!

We had lots of lightning and thunder and big rain but luckily didn't lose power. It looks beautiful this morning ... like the sky has been washed. :goodvibes

We didn't have bad storms here but it is still raining!!!! I am so sick of all this rain here in NJ -- it has rained almost every day for the past 3 weeks! It is supposed to clear up the end of next week and start getting warmer too. I guess this weather is just making me look forward to the hot weather in August in Disney more! :rotfl:

Oh, the Bellvue lounge sounds really nice -- I will definitely have to check it out on my next trip!:thumbsup2

Julie and Julia comes out Aug. 7th!!!! Can't wait!

We're having a bunch of loud and wicked storms roll through and I cant sleep so I thought I'd pop in here and see what's what.

Yesterday was the first day all week that we did not have a storm. Whogirl made an extra 50 cents on her allowance by picking up limbs out of the yard Thursday. I hope this week is nicer for both of us!

We're home! I found out on our whirlwind vacay that we'll be moving to Texas, so I am pretty pissed off.

What did I miss?pirate:

I'm guessing Texas was not your first choice ;)....what were you all hoping for? And glad you made it back safe and sound from vacation.

Figures it ends a week before we arrive :sad1:

I can't wait to see Julie & Julia. I became a fan of Julia Child when I was a kid and that started my love of food on tv and cooking!

Briarmom, my husband used to love traveling through Texas (a long time ago when he trucked cross country), I've never been.

If I were to place an order for buttons with the Homer logo is there anyone here besides me who would want one? I found a place where I can do a custom rather than bulk order ...

Any takers?

I'm in, sounds fun!:thumbsup2

one or two? I'm ordering two for us because Jay is a big enough sport to want to wear his own ... I don't want to leave your hubby out of the fun but I don't want to assume that he'd actually want to wear one either!

I would love two. Just let me know cost. Those would be such fun!!!

The Julia movie comes out one day after my (YIKES) 50th birthday. That's very cool. :cool1: I can't be too depressed knowing I'll soon be off to see a movie I'm so looking forward to!!

ya gotta love Pam :lmao:

actually when I was making the Homer sig for Brenda she wrote in the post where she described it "food and wine '09" and when I was typing that I heard Pam in my head saying "wine in '09 makes your day fine" and if she doesn't say that 350 times over the course of the festival this year I will be astonished.

You could make a drinking game from Pam Smithisms. You'd be sloshed in 10 minutes.

I'm sorry, make it two for us!

OOOH! The buttons are fabulous, and even though I'm going to miss the ultra fabulous experience of being there when you all are there, I would love to get some for my first F&W which will be at the very beginning of the festival. Would that be ok?
If so, put me down for 6.

Absolutely perfectly OK. :thumbsup2

So now we're at 12 ... :cool1:

Excellent! :thumbsup2

I'me guessing it will probably be about $2-$3 per button ... it really depends on how many I order ... the higher the order the lower the cost per button.

Will I have time to check with my What's For Dinner ladies and see if they are interested?

I was wondering if anyone here had tried the online booking. I'll admit, I'm wary of it.

Which is hilarious, considering how internet prone I am for everything else.

But this is serious business. We're talking ADRs, people!!!

It's not like ordering a tank top. :lmao:

My date is coming up soon, I'll have to decide if I'm brave enough to try the new site or if I'm going to be old-fashioned.
